Arven allowed a brief, crooked smile at Freddie's chuckle, glad that she'd taken well to his quip. He loved his sister and did not like disappointing her with his life abroad, but flipping his greatest source of happiness on his head had never occurred to him.

"Writing lessons it is", he agreed, finding it an unexpected but agreeable request. It was an unadventurous task, but Arv did often write to pay his way, publishing papers and the occasional exploration article for popular consumption. His penmanship was solid.

He recalled with a jolt (though he'd never forgotten) the particular "state" of his brother-in-law, and why a scribe was necessary. "How is he?" he asked after the family ghost. After all, this would only be the second time Arven had encountered Hubert in ethereal form.

This did take some stress off of Freddie's shoulders. Bertie seemed rather upset over the matter. Hopefully the scribe would show improvement. "Wonderful. I'll let Bertie know. Unless you would like to tell him yourself?"

'How is he?' Was certainly a good question. "Adjusting as well as he can. Hasn't changed much. Paxton enjoys following Hebert around the resort."

"Let's say whoever gets to him first", said Arven on the matter of who tells Herbert. It was, in the grand scheme of things, a small favour Arven would be doing, but he was happy to help where he could — for the short time he'd be in the country.

"Well I look forward to seeing them both soon", he replied brightly on the subject of his brother-in-law and little nephew. "Now, even", he added with a smile as the Sanditon Resort came into view under the silvery sky.

That was a good enough answer for her. Not enough for him to stay long term, but it would have to do for now. The witch smiled proudly as her resort came into view. One of her and her husband's greatest achievements, after their children of course. "I'm sure they'll be easy to find in no time." Though, maybe not. They didn't simply hide away in the living quarters all day.

It wasn't long before Winifred's home came into view, though it was home to many and temporary home to many more. By some estimations, Sanditon was the finest resort in Sussex, and by Arven's estimation it was the finest in the country. Not that he'd been to many... but he was quite sure the place would hold up next to any number of comparators.

"It grows more impressive every time I see it", he said warmly, gazing from the entrance area back to his sister. "Business is booming, I imagine?"

It was quite impressive. And expanding on business was good. Last year, several people stayed far longer than expected, rather than asking extended family if they could stay elsewhere during the fog. It had been wonderful for business.

"Always, during summer. Though we still have to work on making the resort appealing for the more colder months." Expanding business was always good. Something for her to talk about with Bertie.

"I'm sure it's quite beautiful in winter", he replied conversationally, though he wouldn't know; he'd never been to Sanditon in the colder months. "There's something about an open log fire in England that is hard to resist". Along with hot cocoa and tartan blankets; a truly British luxury.

"Siberia was much colder but, I suppose, rather less charming. The freezing winters there are very... practical, and matter-of-fact". Stay warm or die trying, it had been as simple as that. It was a miracle Arven had survived with all his toes.

Never around for Hanukkah. It did sting a little. She was used to it, but still. She wanted her family to be close. To spend time together. But her brother was always one to wonder. "Perhaps you should stay long enough to appreciate at the resort." A bold attempt, but likely only to be an attempt.

The life risking didn't help ease her mind. She wanted her bother around. To settle and call some place home. Preferably close by. And hopefully with her becoming an aunt one day. A legitimate one, preferably.

"Perhaps", he replied softly, and it was not a promise, nor even a begrudging in-between. It was simply a show of warmth, of appreciation that his sister wanted him here. Only a fool would shrug that off.
