Ten Galleons

March 1st, 1889 — St. Mungos Tearoom
Scenario Challenge - Find a purse of 10 galleons
It was just another day at work for Garrett - full of seeing patients and filling out forms, brewing potions and all the other things that factored into a day at work for the young spell damage healer. It was nearing the end of the day and he wandered into the tearoom for an after shift snack.

Taking his sandwich and coffee to one of the tables, he noticed something there that didn't seem to belong to anyone. "Does anyone know who this belongs to?" He asked around as he lifted it so that the others in the room could see what he was talking about. It felt like it had coins in it, he could hear them clinking about in the purse.

Work was quite different now. Hospital Director, quite official. But now he saw patients a bit less. Though he worked more with his co-wor-... employees. So strange. He was used to running a ward, but not a hospital. But here he was.

Looking over at one of his employees, his eyes widened. "That's mine. Well... my wife's actually." He said. Said wife had wanted him to pick up her new dress, having hurriedly shoved the purse into his hands before he had been on his way. Had he not almost been late, he would have taken the time to place said coins into one of his pockets. Hadn't really thought about it much until he saw it lifted before some of his employees. At least he was not late to work.

"Lucky thing I found it when I did, sir," Garrett said. He kept his own coin purse tightly under his shirt since it was hardly like he could risk losing any amount of coin that he might have. He went over to the hospital director and held it out to him.

Lucky indeed. Not only would he be mad at himself for loosing valuable money, but his wife might actually have killed him. "Quite. Thank you." He said as he took the purse. Putting a spell on one of his drawers in his office seemed like a smart idea. Then he could put the coin in and know that it was safe, rather than run risking he'd loose it.

Garrett barely had time to say anything when a man that had previously been seemingly hovering about pushed between himself and Mister North. Unknown to Garrett, the man had made off with the coin purse that Mister North had only just pocketed! "Are you all right?" He asked in mild concern. "How rude of that man!"
thread needs to be 10 posts long so npc thief to the rescue xD

Unlike Mr. Cavey, Victor noticed the theft from the feeling of a hand in his pocket. Instead of yelling, he quietly turned to Mr. Cavey. The thief seemed to wish to slip into the crowd of the hospital rather than make a scene of running for it. "Rude is right, he just stole the purse. We must catch up to him without making a scene." Making a big scene would not look well for the hospitals reputation anyway.

Garretts eyes widened momentarily and he nodded in understanding. Indicating to the older man that he would go to the left, he hoped they would be able to head the thief off. Garrett was small and sprightly whilst the thief was a bit more lumbering and didn't seem to be a sprinty sort. Likely why he was being so careful to try and not have been noticed.

Victor nodded and went his own way. He was sure the younger wizard would be the one to catch the thief, but one could not be too careful.

Garrett drew his wand as he thought he had good shot, with people not being in the way. "Carpe Retractum," he cast, pleased when his spell succeeded and he had the thief effectively lassoed. Garrett began pulling the man towards him, looking over for Mister North.

A bit over dramatic, but it would do. He nodded and approached. "I shall send an owl to the Ministry regarding this matter." He stated as he snatched the purse from the thief. "Stealing in a hospital. What a shameful act indeed."

Garrett nodded in agreement when Mister North said that he would send an owl. "If you have this in hand, sir, I can get back to work," Garrett said. A director had a lot more leeway than a regular healer like Garrett, after all.

#12
Victor nodded to the young man. "Indeed. I will have someone send for you if the Ministry officials need a statement." The man needed to go save lives, if needed. Victor could do his paperwork while waiting for officials to arrive.

"Of course, anything you need - I'm at your disposal," Garrett assured when Mister North said he would be sent for if he needed to give a statement. His part in all this done for now, Garrett made off for the spell damage ward.
