Miss Fairchild,
I have never so much longed to see the end of a summer, perhaps not because of my enthusiasm for school but rather the knowledge that school could only resume if the fog were to dissipate! I regret that I have not been able to accompany you to church this summer—I was so longing to learn more about your beliefs! Perhaps the fog will clear in the next month and I will be able to join you on a clear and sunny Sunday morning.

Should I presume your OWL scores and supply list found you without trouble? My Aunt Nephele says owls are far too clever to be slowed down by a bit of fog.
Sincerely,
Miss Frida Lestrange

Miss Lestrange,

By now, I’m sure you will have heard the wonderful news that the fog has lifted from Irvingly, and so, if you will pardon the dramatics, I am free at last! I am not entirely certain of its cause—something to do with Egypt, I know, and Aunt Temperance has chalked the matter up to ‘false idols’, which makes sense given the Biblical plagues that were rained down upon us.

I shall be pleased indeed to have you accompany us to church. St Fergus we have been attending religiously, of course, but I have missed so much the more intimate gatherings at Hogsmeade Hall. I shall be in attendance once more on the nineteenth of this month, and would happily save you a seat if you should deign to join us!

As to my supplies list and scores, they did indeed find me with ease. I trust yours did likewise?

Sincerely,
Blythe Fairchild

Miss Fairchild,
Oh yes, I was more than delighted when I walked outside and found the skies blue once more! The dusty scent continues to linger in my nose, a solemn reminder of the summer lost due to yet another tragedy. The explanation given by the press—and subsequently your aunt—makes me even more anxious to join you at at the meeting.

The 19th would work just splendidly; the past few days have been spent in London to find every item on my supply list, so I don't believe there will be any errands preventing me from meeting you there.
Sincerely,
Miss Frida Lestrange
