Bonfire night at hogwarts

While fireworks explode in the air I thought it might be fun for the students to go out and watch and perhaps try a few spells of their own in the grounds.

Considering the faculty death less than a week prior, might be in poor taste Wink

Aldous Crouch until 1959 it was illegal not to celebrate bonfire night, just performing our legal duties Smile

In all fairness being a wizard is probably considered more illegal than not celebrating bonfire night, so I'm not sure if the wizarding world would follow or even be expected to follow such laws.

That being said, some students could have still independently gotten fireworks and stuff going? Might still get them in trouble if they're caught since Kayte does have a point that due to faculty death this wouldn't be an organized by the school thing.

Being out that late after curfew - being that it would have to be pretty dark out - would get them in a lot of trouble. I'm sure the groundskeeper would also notice if there were some bright fireworks going off.

What time is curfew, I thought it was about 10pm, sunset on November 5th 1893 was 17:26 which gives plenty of room for the students to be out in the dark. Obviously self purchased fireworks sis probably a big no no, but they have wands.

Perhaps some of the students (Obviously the ones who didn't have muggle studies so don't have attachment to and sadness for the dead teacher) are disappointed that there isn't any fireworks and go out to have a little evening fun in the grounds if that is a premise that makes sense.

I personally don't see anything wrong with some students deciding to do firework/bonfire stuff for the fun of it, you do have a point that it'd be dark out before curfew hour and if that's against the rules then the students could get the necessary points taken/detention if they're caught.

Gives a premise for trouble-making students, could result in a fun thread of "Oh no professor, we were just practicing spells"

Well, if it does happen, I volunteer Dorian to bust them as a prefect.
