Hello! The concept has been brought up a few times and I was wondering if anyone would actually be interested in a Muggle Studies Club for their students to join? Thomas Pembroke would be happy to moderate it, and it would be considered starting this year (unless anyone thinks to backdate it to when Professor Pembroke first started teaching).
The benefits of this club would be an increased grade in the class if you take it and mention doing something for the club as it would count as studying (possible bonus house points) and it would be a great way for those not taking the class for whatever reason to still participate in learning something about muggles. Thomas would also argue that a benefit would be to make learning and understanding muggles more accessible to students who are 1st & 2nd years who don't yet take an elective, but maybe want to see if it would be right for them to take the extra class when their third year rolls around.
What would be doing in this club? Much like the other clubs related to school subjects, the point is to get out side of class studying in and learn more about the subject. There will be learning about new technology, famous muggle people in history, trying muggle treats and snacks, maybe some sort of science fair sort of thing where students put on presentations for the rest of the school as an event to maybe earn points or just socialize amongst themselves. And most importantly (in Thomas's opinion), it would be a space for people who just want to learn about muggles to better understand rather than be ignorant or are muggleborns wanting something familiar to study to just chill.
Of course, I'm happy to hear more ideas about what the club can do if we get enough people wanting to be in it.
