Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ

Hermia Bonaccord
16 | UCPB | Hufflepuff Class of ‘92 | House Chaser | 8 | ESFJ

Her father’s right to call her ‘Sunshine,’ as Hermia’s smile and laugh are something everyone’s experienced. Hermia’s a social butterfly and combatted her loneliness of being away from her family by making friends. She is respectful and polite but will voice her disagreement with ideas she considers bigoted. She’s pure and proud of her famous family line, but she is fascinated by muggles and their culture. She was raised and educated in a rather egalitarian fashion and spent most of her life abroad. She’s thinks most English rules for women are ridiculous, but holds her tongue, mostly. Hermia grew noticeably quiet over her last year of school due to her brother’s death, but few know of it and she pretends it was anxiety over her OWLs.

Friends: Friends are her protection and preoccupation. She probably has plenty of average friends, but very few people that know her beyond the smile. She needs a few close friends she can be real with. She has her own demons and is highly tolerant. Blood, house, or class matter little when it comes to friends for her.

Enemies: Professional bully dodger and avoider of confrontation, Hermia’s likely to bore or piss off bullies. She will go out of her way to pour on the sunshine and rainbows if she knows it would get on your nerves.

Lovers: Possible flirtations and crushes could happen, but she won’t be caught in compromising situations. She can’t imagine being with someone that judges her love of sport or school.

Others: Younger students would find a big sister and Hogwarts guide, professors would see an eager student happy to please and determined to do well, her fellow Hufflepuffs and teammates would know her to pour her heart into everything and work her hardest to make Hufflepuff a safe, welcoming place for all.

Plots: Need a tutor? Need someone to help cover for an indiscretion? Did you want to learn another language or need someone to confide in? Mixed blood or outcasts would find Hermia a safe person to befriend. She a master at memorization, challenge her to a nerd-off. She’s an obnoxious sweetheart.

Angelica Vorona
29 | MCPB | Slytherin Class of ‘78 | Arithmancy Professor | 9 | ENTJ

Exotic and worldly, Angelica is Italian and Russian by blood and English by birth. Angelica is a beauty, but it's her mind that should truly stop someone in their tracks. Always a clever woman, Angelica became a real force once she reached Hogwarts. Excelling in classes and her extracurriculars, Angel was popular and well-liked in school, but she also had a sharp tongue and little patience. She was a Prefect and Head Girl and, above all, a competitor. She dreamed of a career in international politics, but was painfully aware of the limitations of her sex. Angel outsmarted her father's matchmaking and secured a marriage for love, but it came at a price. Angel escapes her abusive husband, but killing him breaks her heart in the process. By twenty-four, she's returned to Britain and secures the Arithmancy position, a remarkable achievement. She's lost the fairy-tale she dreamed of, but she refuses to spend her life in silence.

Friends: Angelica can be difficult. She is a complete extrovert and loves connecting with people, but she has little patience for anyone she deems uninteresting. Intellectual, curious, cosmopolitan, or dedicated to your work? Perfect. Angelica would be drawn to other professors and people with international backgrounds. Money and status aren't nearly as important to her as ambition and intelligence. She also loves her students, regardless of what they say about her homework load.

Enemies: Ignorant? Interested in her for her connections? Think women should be seen and not heard? Solid no. Angel can't tolerate idleness or academic laziness and never had a problem voicing it. Women she sees as too passive and men that only want a bedwarmer are going to earn her disapproval in a split-second. She's smart enough not to escalate to feuds, but her good opinion once lost is lost forever.

Lovers: She was engaged by her sixth year and in love with his brother. A deal with the devil gets her the man she wanted and she's married the summer after graduation. She has the best marriage possible for almost three years until his dark side made an appearance. She's a widow at twenty-two. From 1882-1884, there may have been a fling or two in Russia. After 1884, it's possible she's enjoyed some serious flirtations, but she's cautious. She wants to marry again and have children, but if he isn't ambitious and an intellectual equal, don't bother.

Others: Work colleagues would know her as workaholic that loves students, but doesn't play around. She would love project collaborators or academic ventures. Students would know her as tough, but with a major soft spot for anyone that tries. Need extra work over the summer? Angelica would provide.

Plots: Friends, work connections, a past fling, other widows commiserating, I'm open to any and all.

Hello! I somehow don't have anyone in her year (how unlike me!) but I do have...
Abraxas Crabbe, who plays quidditch with her and has already informed me he has a crush.
Hamish Darrow, her head of house

I have Sloane Bixby who is a third year Gryffindor, seeker for her house team! She's all tomboy and could probably benefit from having an older female influence- she's got all brothers!

I also play Mason Skeeter the herbology professor and Phineas Black the headmaster. The former is super easy going and really loves his job. The latter is the exact opposite xD

Hi, Amy! I only have one connection for you, unfortunately!

Cassia Fawley is in Hermia's house, but in the year below her! I don't imagine that they'd be too close — Cassia is more the quieter, artistic type than social and athletic — but I could see them being friendly, at least!

Ruby Urquart and Hermia could potentially be friendly, especially if Hermia would be supportive over Ruby's twin being a werewolf! Ruby loves Divination, fashion, and art.

Seneca Lestrange would privately consider her a blood traitor weirdo but outwardly be perfectly nice and polite to her.

Finally I have Meta here, who runs in the troublemaking circles.

I had Cadawalader Selwyn who is a Pureblood gryf, fellow quidditcher, but he's a good bit younger than her, so other than quidditch that's probably it for him, but happy to thread them to see how they vibe.

I also have Meserimus Valenduris - the potions prof - he's an incredibly old pureblood who has lived all over Europe - happy to have had their families know each other.

Hi Amy!

I have Gretchen Lestrange who is in her year but a Slytherin and essentially the polar opposite to all of the above :P She undoubtedly considers it a terrible state of affairs that a lady of her own class plays Quidditch and is suitably hateful.

My only student is a baby Slytherin (Hesper Gamp) so they're not so likely to cross paths.

HOWEVER, I do have the Hufflepuff matron Parthenope Lufkin! She's like the emotional and social support person for Hufflepuff girls. Not that boys would be turned away she just doesn't have as much patience for them. She's also privately a 'radical' feminist but publicly she's more lowkey. Right now anyway, she's been more vocal in the distant past but she's trying to to be discreet enough that she doesn't get fired. She started at Hogwarts in the January just gone so she's pretty new.

Thanks to Bee for this magnificent set <3

Hello! I have two options for you:

Thomas Montgomery is in her year, but he's a Ravenclaw. He's on the Ravenclaw quidditch team. He's actually a really nice guy, but he has quite a temper and can come off as grumpy as heck depending on the situation. He won't mind that she likes quidditch! If she enjoys transfiguration, he'd also chat her up.

Clementine Rookwood (who is returning in July, so it'd have to be a future thread) is in the year above her and a Hufflepuff. She's really sweet and a 'mom friend.' I imagine she's probably been very friendly to Hermia, and maybe they've helped younger students together?

I have
Artemis Fairchild, who I'll be reactivating in the next month, who's in the same year. She's a Ravenclaw. He brother died a few years back at Hogwarts over Winter break.

Geoffrey Campbell who hasn't been played since October but I'll probably be bringing him back soon. He's a little shit and going into his second year in Slytherin.

Sherah Drago just graduated this year and they probably did at least know each other in passing.

Crystal here is just a mean halfbreed when people wrong her or her friends/family - usually with good reason, but it could also be a percieved wrong. I don't know if they'd actually be friends, but they did have a few overlapping classes for a year or two (I think. Math is hard when you first wake up).

Anthea Selwyn Anthea might be a good friend for Angelica despite being five years her junior and of upper class stock? They were in the same house and Anthea is very dedicated to her job and intellectual pursuits so may run in the same academic circles.

Rudy Sweeney Rudy is Hermia's House and is a third year who tends to think with his heart first and is a half-giant. All of which will get him into trouble or mean that he needs help covering things up or a Prefect to probably monitor his particular brand of dumbass. His current goal in life is to complete his OWLs and work with magical beasts.

Anthea is with complete face blindness and unimpressed. If you've met her before don't expect her to be friendly....ier than normal.

Hi Amy!

You mentioned in another plotting thread that Hermia's a bit of a mother hen to the younger Hufflepuffs and head of the French clubs, both of which are things that would draw my little, homesick Guern, Tommy to her. He's missing his family desperately never having left Guernsey or even slept in a bed without his siblings (and/or cousins of he was staying with them) before coming to Hogwarts. He didn't actually want to come when he found out he was a wizard, but his parents (mainly his dad) talked him into it. So far, he's asked the flying instructor to ride along with him during the first lesson and fled down the stairs in tears the first night in the Hufflepuff common room because he thought he saw a monster by his bed.

He's also quite nervous that his French will get rusty while he's off the island. Education in Guernsey schools was in equal parts English and French, so he's conversant in it (and fluent in the local patois of Guernesais, which is sort of an anglicized french). He always won awards at school for his French scores and he's positive his teachers will be disappointed in him if he comes back and he's forgotten some (he fully expects to be back at the upper school back home next year near his family again and he doesn't want to get off track). The French club could be a good fit for him if he finds out it exists, but also maybe a bit of a shock to the system. I'd imagine is standard French has a noticable Guernesais accent to it.
