September 3, 1888 - Transfiguration Classroom
It had been a long summer, but now school was back in session and hopefully drama would not plague her this year. No brother to make things worse, no ban to test her limited patience, and her sisters weren't fighting with her. This was also the year that she could actually ask her professor for help in hopefully attempting to become an animagus soon after graduating. What an achievement that would be. Perhaps it would prove her worth to her family, and to herself.

Taking a few breaths, she walked up to Professor Yi after club had finally ended. "Professor Yi, may I speak to you for a few minutes?" She asked politely. While this was the teacher's first year, she did hope that they would get along well for the rest of her years at Hogwarts. For the sake of the fact that they would be at least at club and in class together for the next two years.

Tae-min Yi

Wow, he was back in Hogwarts as a professor. It felt surreal and he was excited to teach the young minds of Hogwarts. He was very giddy about it all, really. He had immediately signed on to help advise the Transfiguration club. Today had just been an introductory sort of thing but it seemed one of the students had something on her mind. "Of course," he said, gesturing for the girl to sit down. Oh right, chaperone. He glanced over and saw that she was in place, if looking a little bored. "Miss.. Whitledge, was it?"

One thing that was good about a new professor was that he had been absent for all of her family drama. He had been absent of the influence of her brother. A positive start would be a brilliant step in the right direction. Sitting down across from the professor, she thought once more about what she was going to say. "Yes. Thank you for agreeing to speak with me. I was hoping to inquire if you would be willing to assist me in my studies to become an animagus." She stated, trying her best not to sound a bit nervous. The idea of rejection and having to wait until summer was frustrating enough as is.

Tae-min was secretly very excited about having his first teacher-student conversation. He was a little surprised at her question. "I'm sure you know that it is a lot of work," he said, positive that she had to have put thought into it before coming to him about it. "We would have to make up a schedule that allows for a chaperone to be with us but I don't see why not," he said thoughtfully. "It is mostly reading though so I am going to order some of the books you'll need to read, okay?" Tae didn't even think about the fact that he could probably decline. If the young lady wanted to know more about something he was an expert of some sort in, then by Merlins pants he was going to assist.

As the president of the Transfiguration Club, she truly hoped that this would be a positive point for her case in getting permission to study becoming an animagus. Nodding to his statement regarding the amount of the work it would take to complete this accomplishment, she quietly listened to the rest that he had to say. Listening closely, she thought about his words carefully. "Yes, I understand the amount of hard work and dedication that will be needed. I am eager to learn such an impressive type of magic." She responded joyfully. This seemed to be going quite well.

Tae-min was pretty psyched. His first year of teaching and he might be the starting factor to someone performing the most amazing magic in the world. Well, that was what it was to him anyway.

"Then I would be glad to assist you, Miss Whitledge. I am glad that you are taking such an interest in your studies!" He just hoped she understood that the possibility that she might not succeed was there but OPTIMISM. It was something Tae-Min Yi had in spades.

Sweetie was surprised by the excitement from her professor, but she welcomed it eagerly. It was something to be quite excited over. With any luck, she would succeed and have something to be proud of once more.

The idea that she may not become an animagus was a fact that she tended to try to ignore as much as possible. While she knew it was a possibility that she would fail, she wanted to keep some hope in her life. It felt as though this was the only thing left in her life that she could be hopeful about. "Thank you, professor. I look forward to studying with your guidance."
