"Let's see if there's another way in rather then straight on," Tiger suggested. He was not at all keen about walking into a possible trap but he also rather felt that they were sitting ducks just standing around out here as well. "We might not be safe no matter where we are."

For a moment, Clifford thought about suggesting to burn the casino down. The corpse probably pointed them to the woman it mentioned, the one who was responsible for the fog. Maybe she created it, maybe it was a punishment for her sins. In any case, she was probably evil. And the casino was an abominable to Jesus den of vice anyway.

But such thoughts were mostly a product of Clifford’s fear to go inside. As he gave the idea a second thought, he realized how bad it was. What if there were innocents inside? What if the corpse didn’t point them directly to the woman? What if it even tricked them?

Ashamed of his less than kind thoughts, Clifford left it for the others to decide the course of action. But he would remember this moment of weakness to later pray for redemption.

"Whoever 'she' is surely won't expect us to come from the side," Maeve echoed, "and if we must go in, avoiding notice seems the most practical plan."

"My sister works here," Meer said, "There should be a door along the left." With a glance at the group, which was probably doomed, she set off towards it.

Thaddeus was quite happy to not take the lead, and he allowed Miss Trelawney to go in first. He kept close behind her, carefully looking at the ground as well as the walls for any kind of trap: he was nervous about the casino being lit up for business but entirely empty.

Tiger nodded in agreement with the auror's words and followed Miss Trelawney as she lead the way to the side entrance.

Who would have thought that Cassandra Trelawney's non-career at the Irvingly Casino could ever have been useful for anything? Prior to this moment, it had only ever inhibited his ability to drink at the Casino by requiring him to avoid the place whenever she might be working. The proposed side entrance did sound much more inviting than the front door in this case, however, and Freddie followed closely behind his sister-in-law.

Once they enter through the side, the group will find themselves in what looks like the corner of a limestone building. However, the 'staff office' sign still hangs above a wooden door set in stone. Under the door is a man who can be recognized as the casino's proprietor - without a head.

The tunnel they are in seems to loop towards the right. Time passes strangely in here.

Frederick was entirely unprepared for the sight of the Casino's interior, since he doubted that the kitchens (or wherever they were) usually looked like this. He was feeling a bit lightheaded even before he saw the corpse, but aside from growing half a shade paler he managed to keep his composure. "Oh, good," he said weakly, because poor attempts at humor were apparently all he was able to contribute at this point. "Another corpse. Maybe he'll give us our next clue."

Or maybe he'd try to kill them, like the last one had done with MacFusty. Maybe he'd be more successful than the last one had. Their group, after all, was down one broadsword from the last encounter, and since this one didn't have a head, he wasn't even sure where they would have used one if they did have a sword.

Mason rather thought himself to have a strong stomach, but even he'd met his limit of dead bodies today. He found Mr. Townsend's joke to be in pour taste, and decided not to even comment.

"Let's just keep moving." They only had one option in the tunnel before them, so Mason pushed onward, still of the mindset he'd like to get through this sooner rather than later.

Maeve did not share Townsend's ability to find humor in the situation, but was decidedly more at ease around corpses that remained dead.

"Skeeter's right," Maeve said with more confidence than she'd been able to muster in some time. "We're at the heart of it now—whatever it is—and delaying will only make it linger further."

At the sight of the headless corpse, Thaddeus felt his stomach twist and he paled. He was not used at all to to running into so much recent death -- it was one thing to examine bones or mummies, but recent, gory death was not something he had most experience with, nor apparently the stomach for.

He turned his head away and followed after the rest of the group, a grim expression on his face as he fought to keep his composure and a level head. He simply wanted this to be over and for things to return to normal.

The tunnel loops around, lit up by torches. Eventually, they come to a split in the tunnel: left or right? It seems that voices are coming from the right, but the leftward tunnel arcs upwards.

Tiger could hear voices down one direction and that seemed to be the logical way to go. He didn't want them all separating though so he decided to wait to see what the others that rather than just barrelling on ahead.

The further into the "casino" they moved, the more uneasy Mason became simply because he had no idea what to anticipate next. Whatever it was he had imagined for this expedition this was certainly not; he was decidedly not signing up for anything like this ever again.

As they came to another fork in the tunnel, his instincts told him to go back upwards, but the sound of voices down the other tunnel made him question if they'd found another group. "Suppose that's another group?" He edged toward the tunnel on the right and listened, but couldn't quite make anything else out. "What if they need help?"  Or what if it was a trap?

Freddie was all for finding another group, at least in theory. Safety in numbers and more people who weren't him to get their throats burned up if they ran across another animated corpse. He didn't want to necessarily rush in to a situation if they needed help, though — because that was just as likely to lead to all of them being in trouble as it was to lead to his ragtag group saving anyone, whatever their intentions.

"So long as we take care not to get into the middle of it and end up needing help ourselves," he pointed out, but turned towards the direction of the voices. He was more than willing to go that way — provided he could hang near the back of the group.
