Handsome had not had a full, deep conversation with his sister since his mother's death, and he was by no means prepared to even as the beginning of March approached. He'd been so adamantly avoiding her that he'd refused to speak to her on Christmas and his birthday, despite them being the two Whitledges who had refused to return home for the holidays.

However, it was not possible to completely avoid his sister, especially in-between class times and when he was scheduled to be patrolling the corridors. His Potions class had ended, prompting his decision to return to the library fora book that one of his peers had recommended to assist him with the lesson. He'd just rounded the corner when he came face-to-face with her.

"Sweetie," he blurted in a rather accusatory tone, but it was out of surprise rather than anger. Upon closer inspection, he realized she'd been crying, but wasn't sure if he should care or not. She hadn't cared when his friendship with Maddie had fallen apart, right? She hadn't checked on him when their mother had died. Would she even care if he cried?

But, ugh, he was her brother. He had to be ~brotherly~ or he'd feel like an asshole.

"What happened?" he asked, letting out a sigh of defeat.
