To The New Mrs. Macnair —
First, please accept my condolences for the extreme tardiness of this gift. It took me quite some time to procure, and so I hope its extravagance will make up for the time missed. Second, I offer my congratulations to you and welcome you to the family. I sincerely hope my brother hasn't made an arse of himself yet. You'll find my card included. Should you need anything, please don't hesitate in its employment.
A. Macnair
A few books on potions and herbs and a delicate but extremely sharp hairpin that could easily be dipped in poison.
