Dear Ford Greengrass
I do not know if you remember me but we met when you urged me to have my ghost friend fired from my place of business. Of course, I jest, but I was the bloke that had the ghost-friend tailing muggles for intel. You requested that I stop and I have. I promise! So please do not have me chased down by aurors, I would not do too well in Azkaban.

Or do. I am not one to tell others about how to live their lives.

I apologize. I momentarily forgot why I was writing to you in the first place.

The device we discussed as been built with its new parameters. It isn't perfect, it is very much in testing stages but I thought you might like to see it! My home address is as follows: [Wellingtonshire address]. It is rather hard to miss as I have the only rainbow-hued roofing on my street, believe it or not!

Mind the gnomes don't escape through the front gates if you do come. My neighbor has been complaining about them like they should have a say on what goes on in my own yard. My gnomes only bite ankles of those they especially dislike.

Look forward to possibly receiving you.

Mind your ankles,
Tycho Dodonus

Dear Tycho Dodonus,

I was beginning to think you'd forgotten! I'm glad you wrote but you did catch me at a bit of a strange time, so apologies if this letter is a bit — scattered. Anyway, I haven't forgotten you or Mr. Williams and I'm glad to hear your show hasn't collapsed under the weight of doing the work yourself. I would love to see your device, but I have things I need to tend to today. Perhaps tomorrow after I finish work (around 5 o'clock)? Or else Sunday, if that suits you better.

Tell the gnomes something nice about me so they won't dislike me enough to go after my ankles. Maybe that I didn't send you off to Azkaban, for a start.

You might come to find that I am a very flexible fellow, able to adapt readily to most situations. So rest assured that Williams being retired from his muggle stalking days has not put me out entirely.

Tomorrow around five works just fine for me!

We can have a merry dinner party of three (should Williams be done sulking enough to be in your presence). Is there anything in particular you enjoy having as a meal?

See you then,
Tycho Dodonus

Dear Tycho Dodonus,

I imagine Williams isn't much put out by the change either; eavesdropping on Muggles isn't exactly a fulfilling and engaging choice of career, is it? So if he's determined to sulk I'll take it as a personal affront. I don't believe he can really be angry about the regulation, so I'll have to assume it's just that he's taken a particular dislike to me and I'll be very much put out by it. (That, or he's bored of the idea of dinner — I imagine it must get tedious to sit around while other people are eating, unless you've a ghost chef on your staff as well as a living one).

I'm sure I'll be quite content with whatever you serve. I'm a 'very flexible fellow' too, and not half so posh as you are.

Cordially,
F. Greengrass
