Camilla doesn't fit the beauty standards of her time. She is too thin and she takes after her Indian relatives from her mother's side. In any case, she is regarded as a rather striking and elegant woman, though that could be due to her relationship to society's fashion darling. She has dark brown hair and dark brown eyes and uses her right hand.
As one should rightfully expect from the sister of Marcus Lytton, she is always impressively dressed. She tries to be different and isn't afraid of experimenting with fashion. Being Marcus Lytton's sister lets her get away with that. She likes both muggle and magical fashion and on more casual occasions she wears robe-y dresses.
History:
Camilla was born to a comfortably middle class household. Her grandfather made a fortune during the industrial revolution. By the time Camilla was born, the Lyttons could be considered wealthy, it was just that they weren't established enough that put them in a middle class position. Her grandfather had been a practical man and her father more an academic than a society man. It was Camilla's mother who was the socialite.
Seeing that she was born last and at an even more comfortable and socially established time for the family, Camilla was somewhat spoiled. Her mother was acting like your typical new money woman. She dressed her youngest daughter in overly flashy clothes because they were expensive, threw parties, etc.
Camilla meets a girl on the train named Julianna Binns. They hit it off pretty well and Camilla is happy when they're both sorted into Gryffindor. Her extroverted nature gets her a lot of friends, unlike Julianna who struggles on that front. Camilla stands by the girl's side, mostly because she enjoys feeling like someone's knight, seeing that they hadn't had the time to bond. In any case, those experiences do bond them.
Camilla doesn't mind Julianna's eccentric nature, because she's somewhat quirky herself. She enjoys Julianna's wit and finds her interesting. As a teenager, Camilla was somewhat of a snobbish hipster, who considered herself quirkier and cooler than the majority of people. She prided herself on being different from other girls in the way she dressed and what she liked.
She's heartbroken when Julianna is expelled. She vaguely knew of her friend's plans and she furiously defends anyone who dared to call her a hussy. During Herbology class, she rather theatrically flashes her ankles. She pretended that her shoes got stuck in the mud and that she needed to remove them and then walked barefoot to the professor while purposefully showing her feet above the ankle. If Jules was a hussy, she would be a hussy too! Thankfully she isn't expelled but her house loses even more House points and now her classmates hate her.
But the foot fetishist classmates don't lol
Her two final years at Hogwarts are lonely without Jules. Camilla is forced to hang out with some other girls from their year, who accept her in their ranks because she's also rich. At least by that point in her life, Camilla had grown out of her hipster phase and was now more of a fashionist who couldn't wait to debut and enjoy parties. She keeps contact with Jules via letters.
Meanwhile, her brother Marcus Lytton was discovering his passion for fashion. In 1879 he opens the House of Lytton, after inheriting.
Camilla debuts a year after graduating from Hogwarts, seeing that her family was still in mourning for her father when she graduated. She spends that 'empty' year hanging out with Jules mostly. Whenever her mother brings up her spinsterhood, Camilla points out that her debut's delay was probably at fault!
She wears one of her brother's creations for the ball. Even though she had been eagerly waiting for her debut, once a debutante, Camilla finds that she doesn't like the whole ordeal very much. She loves society life, but she doesn't really want to get married. That seems boring. Her married sister seemed very happy with her husband and children, but Camilla refused to believe that she was actually happy.
Even though she is courted by some suitors, Camilla turns them all down. She begins helping her brother around the House of Lytton. She loves fashion and she rather likes designing clothes herself. However, she doesn't have her brother's charm. She also has some ideas that are way too eccentric for the majority of customers to like. In the end, Camilla designs for a niche of customers who like her out-there designs more. She also loves working with the magical aspect of the clothes and experiments with new magic for their designs.
By 1885 the House of Lytton is so successful that Camilla, Marcus and their mother move to a lavish townhouse in London. They hadn't been poor by any means, but they now truly felt rich. Besides, Marcus' success grants them access to many social events they weren't considered for previously.
In 1887 Marcus buys off a struggling apothecary and they start a cosmetics business, which Camilla is more than happy to head seeing that she had been good at potions at school. By now, she's lost all interest in marriage. Why marry a rich man when she is a rich man? Her mother isn't pleased but Marcus supports her and seeing that he's the man of the family, her mother can't force her to do anything.
Some people likely raise their eyebrows at Camilla. She isn't involved in any scandals, however, she's not your typical demure Victorian woman. She dresses lavishly, she enjoys going to social events and lightly flirting, even though she has no intention to marry, or even start a secret affair. She isn't afraid of voicing her opinion and she doesn't care if some people find her tactless. Marcus' success serves as a shield and she knows that and uses it to her advantage.
At some point she got her best friend hired by brother, who was in need of a personal assistant.
