It’s Jimmy, in case you’ve forgotten who I am already. Have you??? Or are you missing me lots? I bet the boys are useless without me. Bet Nibs has already cried.

I’m having an excellent time so far. We got to go on boats across the lake and then got sorted in front of everyone. We had to put on a Hat that spoke inside my head after it sang a song and it picked a house for me. I got Gryffindor!!! That’s the red one with the lions if you don’t remember. Means I’m brave and stuff, and gotta live in a tower behind a portrait of a Fat Lady. Well that’s what everyone calls her. I dunno if she has an actual name. Maybe I’ll ask her tomorrow - except classes start then for real. Not sure which I’m most excited for. The food at the feast yesterday was way better than anything at the Hog’s Head. Sorry.

But I know you never went to Hogwarts so tell me if you have any questions, I bet I’ll know the answer now!!

(Also you’ll never guess how many rich kids go here. I haven’t met many of them yet, but I bet I can make friends with ‘em and they’ll tell me friend stuff like where they live and how to get into their houses. See, I’ll be useful here! And just wait until I can do magic. I’ll do all your best jobs, I promise.)

You know I’ve never sent an owl by myself before. I went up to the owlery and I already picked the biggest one with the most ferocious beak who is waiting for me to finish the letter so I hope he gets to the Hog’s Head alright and doesn’t bite ya. I’m gonna stop now before he decides to bite me.

I'm nursing a large bite on my wrist from your lovely winged friend here, so if you ever need to transport something valuable, use this 'un.

Congratulations on getting into Gryffindor, sport! I've heard Gryffindors are the ones that get into the most trouble, so don't make me have to bail you out of whatever jail they might hold there. I hear they might have dragons.

I don't doubt that food is better than what we have here, sometimes myself I contemplate eating mud before I eat some of the stuff we serve. If you can spare a few muffins at breakfast, it'd be much appreciated. Though I don't know if any sort of food would get past Snappy here.

Let me know if that Fat Lady actually has a name, I'm curious.
