The Hogwarts Class of 1894
New Debutantes Enter Society; Others Enter Adulthood
The near-end of the Hogwarts school year was celebrated with the school's annual Coming Out Ball on Sunday, with young witches from all walks of life making an entrance into society (though not all will remain there at the time of publication, required by circumstance instead to join the workforce).
The procession of debutantes was led by Head Girl, Miss Sisse Thompsett, dughter of Mr. Matthew and Mrs. Charlotte Thompsett, of Gryffindor House. She is the only daughter of the Thompsett family. She was followed swiftly by her fellow prefects:
Miss [Hufflepuff Prefect], daughter of [her parents, I assume], of Hufflepuff House
Miss Matilda Farris, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Farris, of Ravenclaw House
Miss Iphegenia Adebayo, youngest daughter of Mr. Taiwo Adebayo, of Slytherin House
Each prefect was resplendant in white, boasting a tiara as tried and true (though not as chatty) as the Sorting Hat, marking her for all to see as One To Watch. Of course, these were not the only young ladies presented at Sunday's ball. The extensive list includes:
Miss Madeline Bell, eldest daughter of Mr. Ambrose and Mrs. Annie Bell, of Gryffindor House
Miss Effervescence Darling, only daughter of Mr. Horace and Mrs. Evangeline Darling, of Gryffindor House
Miss Millicent Erstwhile, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Erstwhile, of Hufflepuff House
Miss Irene Fudge, second daughter of the late but lingering Mr. Herbert Fudge and his widow, Mrs. Winnifred Fudge, of Slytherin House
Miss Francesca Garlick, youngest daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. Sean Garlick, of Hufflepuff House
Miss Meta Lestrange, youngest living daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Orestes Lestrange and ward of Mrs. Nephele Lestrange, of Gryffindor House
Miss Jessamine Parkinson, youngest daughter of Mr. Elwood and Mrs. Violette Parkinson, of Ravenclaw House
Miss Calla Potts, youngest daughter of Mr. Basil and Mrs. Laurel Potts, of Hufflepuff House
Miss Holly Scrimgeour, eldest living daughter of Mr. Hadrian Scrimgeour, of Slytherin House
Miss Alcyone Slughorn, only daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. Edric Slughorn, of Gryffindor House
Miss Rosabella Stanwell, youngest daughter of Mr. Fitzwilliam and Mrs. Adelia Stanwell, of Ravenclaw House
Miss Desdemona Ravenswood, youngest daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. Edgar Ravenswood, of Slytherin House
Miss Amarantha Valenduris, eldest daughter of Mr Theseus and Mrs. Rosaline Valenduris, of Slytherin House
The evening went by without any major upsets; only one young lady noticibly tripped during her entrance—the unfortunate Miss Darling—though eagle-eyed attendees may have noticed Miss Erstwhile reappeared in black dress robes mid-evening after suffering a particularly damaging punch spill upon her quite ample gown.
Of course, it is not only the young ladies who celebrated the end of their studies this year: a number of young wizards, including Head Boy Mr. [Name], also marked the occasion by crossing the Black Lake as they did in thier first year.
This author sends her well wishes to this years graduates of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!
