Answers are finally uncovered
More than two weeks after the initial tragedy down at the River Thames, the public has grown restless at the seeming lack of response from the Ministry. Understandably so, the catastrophe produced more than one potential cause for an international incident; no small feat for the soon-to-be former Minister of Magic Justin Ross and his office to try to untangle: multiple people admitted into St. Mungo’s long-term wards, in addition to countless numbers of muggles who needed to have their memory modified. Obliviators, aurors, and many other ministry employees - we’ve been told - have been working overtime the past few weeks.
The matter of the dragons is an entirely different one. Once rumored to be connected to the Abedayo Trading Company, these dragons it turns out were brought here illegally by Dr. Samuel Cain, a squib originally from Pennsylvania located in the United States who grew up here in London. We've been told that Dr. Cain was not and has never been associated with the Abedayo Trading Company. Dr. Cain eventually traveled back to the United States recently. It’s been discovered that Dr. Cain was experimenting with the uses of dragon blood, but ultimately failed. In an attempt to recover his financial losses, he was coming back to Great Britain to sell the dragons to an undisclosed buyer here in Great Britain. We’re told that the case has been handed to Head Auror Faustus Prewett to pursue this line of inquiry.
The dragons have been given to several sanctuaries throughout Great Britain to be rehabilitated before being sent back to Peru by governmental authorities. Although the dragons were rounded up within 72 hours and the waterfront of the River Thames restored by the Ministry, the catastrophe is still looming behind the Wizarding Population and time will only tell how this will affect International Relations between Ministries.
