Given the type of business the girls were in under his employ Edgar was surprised it hadn't happened far sooner. Now that he was aware, or more accurately, his alias Leon, he knew steps would need to be taken. For the last week or so he considered many options, from simply turning the girl out and let her deal with her condition on her own to various not so legal things he could do with the child once born. In the end he decided to take the more ethical path.
After a bit of discreet inquires and word of mouth he found a reliable midwife to contact. Whether she would be willing to work discreetly and outside of St. Mungos remained to be seen. Time to find out if he'll have to resort to his second choice.
Dear Miss Moony:
We are not acquainted but I have need of your skills as a midwife. The request isn't for me personally but for a friend who has found herself in need. On her behave I'm reaching out to you to request your discreet service.
For reasons I prefer not to get into the young woman in question isn't able to come to St. Mungos to see you. Thus, it'll be necessary for you to come to her place of residence, the location of which I'll divulge once you agree to certain conditions.
If you are willing to ply your midwife talents under these conditions please let me know asap. The owl who brought this letter will wait for your response.
Yours in confidence,
Leon Bunyip
