Sebastians eyebrows twitched together as yet again he knew that he hadn't been that someone she'd been hoping had been happy for her right off the bat. But now wasn't the time to explain exactly why he had reacted that way, because Sebastian himself could barely understand it yet either. And so he nodded, placing a palm on his cheek to rest it as he frowned. He was surprised Lucinda hadn't made herself known yet; it was certainly uncharacteristic of her. But then again, Sebastian's reaction was also seemingly uncharacteristic. The entire family seemed to be full of surprises, as of late.

"I'd have figured you'd hear from her, if not by owl then at least our house from here." He was only half joking; there was some truth in the statement. "Has he or the rest of the family at all sent acknowledgement of the baby yet at least?" Sebastian asked of Kirke's father, now slightly curious at what he was like in comparison to his rather boisterous son.

It would come, a response from Lucinda, of that Elsie was certain. She rather thought it was probably a good thing her cousins hadn't immediately reacted, but she couldn't imagine anyone else would wait much longer. Unless they planned to cut their ties, that she was sure she would have to hear through the family grapevine.

"It's been fairly silent, I'm sure the shock hasn't worn off yet. Adella, after thoroughly making her disappointment known, is quite thrilled to become an aunt." Her sister still longed to be a mother herself and even though her marriage was years in now, they still hadn't managed to fall pregnant. "I think mum will come around." Clearly Stella was disappointed and had every right to be, but as much as Elsie had feared telling her mother, Stella had surprised her in her reactions in that she did not overreact.

"We haven't heard from anyone on Tyb's side yet." She honestly wasn't even sure if he had reached out. Tyb had likely told his brother, they were fairly close, but she hadn't pushed the issue. Els knew that the Kirke family was not quite as tightly-knit as her own, so she wasn't going to force anything.

MJ always makes her so pretty

It was a funny thing, shock. Sebastian himself was still in the midst of it but as the air had mostly been cleared after having stuck his foot so spectacularly in his mouth, he found himself mirroring his other cousin in that he was rather excited for the next generation of Beauregards to make their appearance. There would likely be none coming from him, so it was all up to the others, and Elsie and Kirke seemed to be doing well on their own.

All of them would have to come around, Sebastian figured, much like himself. He pursed his lips as he looked down at his hands. "I'm sure you will, eventually." He offered with a slight smile. "Especially if you and Kirke have anything to say in the matter." Yes, it was quite clear he should get used to the baby and Kirke or turn the other direction. Frankly, as much as he'd liked Kirke at Hogwarts, now that positions had changed he felt he would get used to the idea of a baby faster than the idea of getting used to the idea of Elsie's husband. But there was no need to make that known anytime soon - if at all.

"Right then," He stood up. "How about I make us some tea?"
