Dear Mr. Abernathy,Perhaps you might be willing to meet me somewhere? At the risk of sounding as though I'm trying to mimic some silly mystery novel, I believe it might be easier to explain in person.
Somewhere off the beaten path, perhaps? I think society's interest (and Meredith Watchword's interest) has largely moved on, but just in case anyone is taking notice I probably ought not to be seen having meetings with strange men.
I'm available most days in the evenings (after the House of Lytton closes) or tomorrow morning before noon. Anywhere in London or accessible by floo is convenient for me.
