Dear Dionisia,

If you have not already heard from Zelda, Mr. Ross and I will be hosting a small gathering to better make Mr. Darrow's acquaintance. Though we have not spoken of it so plainly, I have little doubt that you know of my reluctance towards the courtship, and it is my ardent wish that you and Ari should join us on the eighteenth to reduce any potential tension.

(I am not so immaculate a hostess that I think myself able to do so without assistance.)

I shall write as well to my brother to remind him to ensure his calendar is clear, and beg that you do not leave me to fend for myself. My own husband, though dear to me, can be rather diplomatic at times, a side effect of his position

Yours,
Roslyn

Ari,

Your presence is required for dinner on Thursday, 18th March. Mr. Darrow will also be in attendance, as, of course, shall our sister. I look forward to seeing you.

Affectionately,
Ros

Zelda,

Following our conversation the other evening, dinner is set for 18th March. Please do come rather early—six o'clock is best, I think—so that we might have some time together before the others arrive.

Affectionately,
Ros

Mr. Darrow,

I must thank you for your attendance at the reception on Saturday. I am sure your tales of adventure were enjoyed by more than one attendee; you are truly fortunate to have led such an interesting life—the mishap at sea, of course, excluded.

Further to our discussion, I wish to properly invite you to dinner on Thursday, 18th March. It will be a small party—Mr. Ross and myself, Miss Fisk, and Mr. and Mrs. Ari Fisk—to further the intention of the evening. I hope that you will not be offended that I write so plainly upon the matter.

Please arrive at eight o'clock; dinner will be served shortly thereafter. I am certain any of my brothers would be happy to direct you on the matter of attire if this is an area in which you are unexperienced.

Sincerely,
Mrs. R. Ross

J. Alfred Darrow

Dearest,

A reminder that, if you fail to return for dinner—six o'clock, at the latest—you shall be held responsible for a murder. It might be your own.

All my love,
R.

Justin Ross
