"So why don't I believe you when you half-heartedly say this could be our space? No boys, no bullshit, just the girls dorm like it always has been!?" She had paced back to her bed, was staring up at the canopy above her mattress in frustration.

"Nobody is asking anyone to pledge their allegiance anywhere, Merlin's beard." She sighed, pressing her hands against her temples. "Just ignore his stupid face when you're mad at him, that's what I do." Always, for a whole fucking year and she'd survived, come out the other end just fine.

"Because he's your - whatever!" Alice shouted back, falling back onto her bed with a huff. "You're not bloody neutral territory. And it won't ever be no bullshit." First with Sloane then with Sisse and Edison. The bullshit had already infiltrated their dormitory.

"Well I'm not you." She bit back, fuming and already pondering ways to slip past her and back out of their dormitory. "And I don't care what you do when you're mad at him. I don't want to be anywhere near him. I spend enough time navigating around him in class, that I don't want to add to it. Not you. Me. He didn't hurt you, he hurt me. So, either we're fine and all is bloody dandy and we can drop this or we're not. Just decide."

Picking up her bag, Alice stormed from the room.

Man, that was annoying, she could see where Cam was coming from on that front.

Sloane was right behind her, though. "I spent an entire year not talking to him, I've been hurt, this hurts. I was still around though." On the edges, but still present. "What do you want me to do, leave him?" It came out in a harsh whisper, a rushed sentence that didn't make any sense, it wasn't an option, but Merlin's beard what else could she do? Sloane was capable of being two things at once, a friend and whatever. "Is that what I have to do to prove we can still be friends?"

Cam was going to fix this and he was going to fix it soon.

"Good for you." One more way Sloane was better than she was, she supposed. One more reason why a whatever with Sloane was better than a friendship with Alice. She didn't want to be angry with her friend, nor did she want another fight to happen, but Sloane couldn't seem to let the subject drop. Sloane couldn't grant her a bloody ounce of mercy.

Alice moved down the stairs at a furious pace, stopping midway down the last flight to turn and stare at her friend. "You can prove that we're still friends by respecting my boundaries and understanding why I might not want to be around someone who was intentionally mean." She hissed. Hadn't boundaries been the premise of Sloane and Sisse's fight.

Sloane could just about scream. She hated this, hated every ounce of it, could feel it vibrating in her tiny figure from her head to her toes. Her hair turned purple, that mixture between anger and sadness that it tended to get when she lost control of her abilities and she could feel the angry tears welling up in the corners of her eyes.

"Fine," Sloane hadn't missed that direct hit to her heart. "I just hope you realize that I miss you and I will still be here when you're ready. You don't mean any less to me because of Cameron." Fuck. She swiped at the tears spilling out now, always a mess in these situations. Where the fuck was Hatch when she needed him?

Historically, Sloane's hair changing to such a sad shade of purple would've been enough to alert Alice to stop and check in. Or, at the very least, enough to make Alice soften in her frustration and rethink the issue. However, the issues had nothing to do with Sloane and it wasn't fair to expect Alice to be entirely trusting of the seeker. (It had, in fact, taken the better part of three months for Sloane to approach her at all, after all.)

"I know." She did, too. Mostly, anyway. Alice didn't believe her value remained the same in relation to Cameron, but that was the thing wasn't it? Everyone would side with Cameron and she'd have to figure out a new group for friends, even if Cameron was technically in the wrong. "We'll figure it out eventually." Alice said diplomatically. "I'm going to go study." And, without waiting for any further response from Sloane, Alice ducked out through the common room and into the main castle.
