Appearance:
Tall like his brothers, Lester stands at 5'7" and is still growing. He's sort of skinny, and has freckles, sandy-brownish hair, and a tendency towards standing with his hands in his pockets so as to take up less space. His eyes are hazel, he's right-handed, and he dresses according to his class but with a teenage boy's lack of... thinking about how well he's dressed (occasionally untucked shirts, etc.) He'd probably have an athletes' build if he played Quidditch seriously, but that's not really his vibe.History:
In 1874, Lester is born, the youngest of the Hatchitt children. He's an easy baby and a quiet toddler who is closest with his sister Mercy, and his earliest childhood is marked by milestones in his siblings' lives that he is far too young to remember. (Jesse and Connie going to school in 1874 and 1875, Gabe going to auror training.)
Lester shows his first signs of magic in 1878, at the age of four, when he levitates one of his brothers' broomsticks. It's around this window that the Hatchitts move to Hogsmeade, and in the fall Victoria goes to school. She's followed by Josiah and, finally, in 1882 Mercy, leaving Lester "alone" in the house... except for the siblings that have wrapped things up and moved back home. (Jesse, Connie.) Lester's pretty at ease around adults, accordingly.
Like much of the wizarding world, the laughing plague of 1884 doesn't exactly pass without note in the Hatchitt family. Mercy dies that summer and it's not that Lester's necessarily markedly different in personality after, but there is something a little bit sadder about his countenance, and he misses his best friend. He might be a little quieter, too. His sister Victoria finishes school and debuts in 1885, and in 1886 Connie gets married.
Finally in 1886 - shortly before he turns twelve - it's Lester's turn to go to Hogwarts. He's sorted into Gryffindor once he's there, and falls in with a his roommates and some additionals that more or less orbit one another. He's content even early on to keep his friend group small, and isn't really one of the people who finds new friends to bring into the group - it's more that a roommate will find someone and eventually Lester will get used to them.
His second year, 1887-1888, passes largely uneventfully except that Cameron's joining the house team brings some more people into their group of friends. In third year (1888-1889), Lester starts with Care of Magical Creatures and Ancient Studies as his electives.
Fourth year (1889-1890) is marked in Lester's head as The Year Sloane and Cameron Hate Each Other, which he finds very stressful as he's not sure how to fix it. He starts to think that he might like to be a healer, but this isn't the sort of thing he says out loud... Either that or a Quidditch commentator, which is more or less the opposite end of the spectrum. Maybe if he fucks up his OWLs?
1890 marks the beginning of fifth year, which Lester has a lot of hope for. Sloane and Cameron no longer hate each other, which is great. The problem is there's definitely drama with other people, and Lester really wishes that everyone could chill out for, like, a minute.

Quiet and unassuming, strong sense of right and wrong, sort of nosy. Adventurous, but not particularly extroverted, and gets nervous in big groups of people. It's the strength of his convictions that edges him into Gryffindor, (this can sometimes border on self-righteousness.) Responsible and intelligent, likes to be vague about what he actually wants and keeps his judgments to himself as much as possible... although they definitely exist, deep down. Difficult to provoke but shockingly fierce when he's pushed that far. Really looks up to his older brothers, and would like to be like them.
