Team Britain: Seeker Trials

April 7th, 1890 — Cannon Stadium

Katherine Appleyard refused to let the rain dampen her spirits as two dozen golden snitches were released upon the pitch. She and the rest of the panel had already agreed that the first-string position would go to the seeker who caught the most, though the second string would take style into consideration. It should be, the witch thought, an entertaining way to spend the afternoon.

A dozen snitches, and they were released in his stadium. Rain wasn't ideal, but this might as well be just another exercise - Cash was, he noted, not even worried. He would either end up on the national team or he wouldn't, either catch the most snitches or he wouldn't, and it all came down to leaving everything on the field. He could do that.

When Miss Appleyard indicated they start, Cash kicked off from the ground.

Archelaus was eager to see how he did with these tryouts. Even if he didn't make the national team, he would still get a good gauge of how his skills matched up with more experienced players. The rain was not in his favour but if he did well even when the elements weren't what he best played in - then he would be pretty satisfied.
