Hi folks! I don't typically do big threads with life updates but there are some big changes in 2020 that will affect my Charming availability so I figured it might be warranted.
First off, grad school continues. I have a solid week of 9-5 classes starting this Friday, then a few more weeks of sweet respite before spring semester really kicks off in full swing. I don't really know what the workload will look like exactly, but I skipped two levels of Spanish to take the most advanced class possible, decided to audit an extra class for funsies, and am tackling my program's capstone project this semester. So... expect to not see me much. I am going to try to plan to be more consistent about scheduling my "off-time" between my two workstudy jobs, family obligations, and Charming, so I'm hoping you'll see me more regularly, but my mental energy might just be... not there. We'll see.
Following spring semester I have to find a practicum placement - which I'll be tackling from September to December. It's essentially a full time job, but with extra grad school projects on top. I have zero clue what it will be yet. Will they pay me? Who knooooows. Will I like what I'm doing? We shall seeeeee. Will I be stressed trying to find it? You bet.
Oh, and one more thing...
I'm a little over 3 months pregnant, due July 10th. If you have me on Facebook, please keep this under wraps; it won't be "public-public" until late this month. First trimester has been really tough with super low energy and just overall feeling gross, which has meant having less time to spend doing things I like. Hopefully things will improve now that we're past that particular milestone, but you never know. July/August will, obviously, see me v. scarce as we deal with a new tiny human in addition to our current monster.
Charming Implications:
I intend to finish any thread that is currently active.
Ophelia probably won't get a new thread until the Robelia baby is due, and I think she'll have a difficult recovery so won't be around much until the start of the season. She may go inactive but I'll keep her threads up as long as they're alive so she may not.
Alfred got jilted by Zelda (or so he thinks) and decided to leave the country - so he's venturing off in January on a trip to Asia. He'll probably tell friends and family he intends to be back in a year, give or take. I intend to have him back sooner than that (based on my availability and everyone's plot needs) but I'll think up a suitable excuse for an early return at the time. Between his current threads and letter potential I'm hoping he can stay active and just ride it out until spring when I have a bit more time.
I have tentative plot plans for Ernest, Ben, and Tiberius, so they will all be staying and will comprise my core active group for spring. Adam is also staying active and available for new threads but does not have any upcoming plots and would like some - otherwise I worry he'll find himself on the chopping block if I get busy this spring, and he deserves better >>
Anyway, feel free to throw questions or comments my way. 2020 is going to be crazy, but I'm buckled in for the ride.
