A booth has been set up in the Ministry atrium where passers-by can purchase a candle for one knut, sickle, or galleon (sized accordingly), engrave it with their preferred imagery, light it, and send it levitating to light up the atrium. Candles will remain lit until the solstice, at which point they will go out dramatically at the same time. All proceeds go to St Mungo's.

In addition, hot cider and mulled wine will be available for purchase. A choir will be on site singing Christmas carols.

What: End of Year Celebration
Who: For 'everyone' (Most likely to attract MC and the odd sort). Hosted by Earth -yes, she is pregnant and will be sitting down most of the time. She’s too odd not to join in the fun - and her family.
Where: Smith Residence in London
Why: To celebrate a good year and welcome in the new decade!
When: December 31, 1889
Celebrations will officially begin at 10 p.m. and will likely end at 1:30 a.m. into the first day of the new year. Though spots are limited, some may even stay in a guest room if they are too drunk tired to find their way home.

Guests are encouraged to bring a favorite food item to share, in addition to food and drink provided by the hosts. Candles will be seen throughout the home, and have been enchanted to display mini fireworks at the stroke of midnight (guests are informed of this promptly upon arrival, and the host family does request that guests do not fiddle with them Kelly says hint, hint for an idiot - drunk or otherwise - to do something stupid.

What: Ball: The Night After
Who: Hosted by the Zabini sisters~ All UCPBs are invited, though the "right sort" of HB (no muggles, muggleborns, or non-humans in their immediate family) wouldn't be turned away (especially if they are rich, attractive bachelors)
Where: Zabini House, London
Why: #Party
When: December 28th
Ball time! As usual, Camilla has spent a way too much of her father's money #yolo. The theme is "night", with an enchanted ceiling forming portrait constellations of guests, a champagne fountain, and a moon that waxes to full and wanes to new as the night progresses.

What: Festive Night at the Frasers.
Who: Hosted by the Fraser family. Most invitees will be MCAB and absolutely cannot be stuffy. Revolutionaries and weirdos welcome.
Where: The Fraser home in Irvingly.
Why: It's Christmas. Tonight we shall eat, drink, be merry and embarrass our children.
When: 21st December.
Ailsa has decorated the house so it looks like the inside of a snow globe - quite literally. Snow drifts gently around the downstairs rooms and bumps into the ill-judged candle lighting, occasionally plunging the guests into partial darkness, but the welcome is warm, the drinks are flowing and Ailsa has cooked so many brandy snaps she could build a spare house out of them. Do not give her this idea.

What: Dance Floor Fever Ball
Who: Hosted by Antigone Lestrange for respectable UCPB/HB folk and the odd upper MC type who can pass.
Where: Oakshire Hall, Kent
Why: 'Tis the season
When: December 29th
No one knows the theme. The theme is secretly The Dancing Plague of 1518. The ballroom has been enchanted to look like a quaint little medieval German town square at Christmas. Picture fake snow, decorated Christmas trees, cobbles, gingerbread-esque shit. It's cute and seasonal and your character might assume it's some sentimental ode to Tig's continental origins. It's not. It's a ruse. She's enchanted a number of cobblestones to curse people when they step on them and she's planned it so that all guests should be exposed to the curse fairly soon after entering the room. It's not impossible that a scant few might be very lucky and avoid the curse. Those who are cursed will suddenly feel compelled to dance. They won't want to stop dancing. They will literally dance all night until their feet bleed and the spell finally wares off because they need to gtfo before they overstay their welcome. They should be left feeling a bit hazy on the details the next morning but overall sure that they had a good time. Aches and pains and potential injuries will be likely depending on the character's physical fitness and luck.

The band will be playing traditional German instruments and the music will at times be very fast.

What: Irvingly Ice Skating Party
Who: Mainly WC/MC residents of Irvingly but anyone can come!
Where: Lake Greer in Hawthorne Hallow of Irvingly
Why: To have fun and celebrate the holiday.
When: December 20th, 1889
The lake has frozen over and some Irvingly folks took it upon themselves to clear the snow off of the surface to make it into a skatable surface. Skates will be on loan to those that do not have their own. There will also be a bonfire, Christmas snacks and hot cocoa made available, caroling, and small, wooden toys will be handed out to any children in attendance.

What: Hogsmeade Christmas Market
Who: Hogsmeade Town Council/Parish Committee
Where: Padmore Park
Why: Its Christmas and people have gifts to buy!
When: December 15th - 24th
Put any extra details here!

The green of the park is dotted with little wooden huts selling handmade gifts and treats. Many diagon alley vendors have small booths as well as independent sellers from all sorts of places selling cosmetics, chocolates, kids sweets, chtistmas cakes and puddings, teas blends, custom snow globes, wooden toys and gifts, wreaths, holly, and poinsettas, festive wines and spirits. There is a band in the band stand, a Santa's grotto giving out oranges when a child visits Santa in the middle of a grotto of enchanted snow. A carousel has been erected which can be ridden in exchange for a donation to charity.
There are lots of places to buy hot totties, hot nuts, and other treats to eat while browsing the market.
Not sure if they have these exactly in the US - but they are EVERYWHERE in Europe. It will look somehting like THIS and more info is HERE
