Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

A charm is a spell that is designed to make day-to-day life easier. Certain transfiguration incantations and defensive spells might be classed as charms, but the term can embody so much more than that. A charm can be as simple as a levitation spell to something so complicated it might re-knit broken bones together. Even the weakest charm can be very powerful if cast by an expert.
A charm is a spell meant to alter a an object's properties, whether it be something simple as its color or something as drastic as its memories. They are different from transfiguration spells in that they do not alter its complete structure. (Example: After changing a toad's skin color from green to brown, it is still fundamentally a toad, but now it is much less sickly-looking and much easier to love.)
There are a wide variety of spells that are considered charms, most of the time they are spells that don’t change the base of something - as in transfiguration. Varieties of charms come from animating lifeless objects, to giving someone tickles, to even creating changes to the environment, or to creating magical effects on clothes.
Charms can help with everyday tasks, with concealing items, they can even help in duels as they cover such a wide variety of spells. Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and Irvingly are even concealed from muggles with a confusing spell to protect our communities..
Charms are spells that add to or alter the properties of an object, such as its color, speed, visibility, and usage. Some objects can become bewitched if a lasting charm is placed upon it. Many charms are considered practical since they often help in day-to-day tasks or to help protect others from harm or discovery. Charms are also useful in dueling and altering the memory of others.
A few practical charms I have seen are spells one uses to aid in cleaning, locking doors, making objects smaller in order to transport them more easily, mending objects, and food preparation. Charms are incredibly useful and often powerful spells that are essential for a witch or wizard to learn.
Charms are spells that change part of the object, not the object itself. Transfiguration is when you completely change the object itself. Charms can be used in practical things like making food! You can help cook it, help prepare it, and help make it appear more beautiful. When baking, you can make the dough into different shapes. You can also make it change colors. Or sparkle. Or sing. Or lots of other things to make it more amazing. This isn't always practical, but using charms to cook and prepare food is. You can also use charms to make things levitate and clean and read people's minds.
Charms are spells that make things better. They don’t fit in the category of transfiguration or potions, and often can be used for many purposes. They can be used to keep food from going stale as quickly or they can be used to enchant things to appear as if they have even come to life. Sometimes they can appear to change the weather, but I don’t think they actually change the weather, just mask it.
A charm is something that can help you do things better than if you were trying to do it yourself by hand. If you wanted to clean something thoroughly, you could use a charm to help you do so. It is also handy when you want to cook, bake or decorate. I have seen my mother's servants use charms to make things float and fly. I would like to learn a charm to help me read foreign languages. I don't know if that's a thing, but I feel like it would be quite handy.
Like we learned in our first year, charms are spells that help people change things for the better. Not transfiguring something, but changing the appearance and size. We could use the charm to help make things look better, like how a metamorphmagus can change their appearance, we can use a charm to change the color of our hair temporarily. It would also be handy to use it to sew apparel and change the colors of old clothes into something more fresh and new.
