It’s quite unusual for a caster's patronus to be their favourite animal, but very possible that it will take the shape of a creature they’ve never before seen or heard of. — Amy

Daesyn was pleased to get into the second round and prepared herself to cast a Transfiguration spell for the second round. She was not and animagi, and she didn't feel like turning a spectator into a teapot, but she noted a tickle of smoke to enable her to use a spell she had used quote effective in actual combat before.

She waved her wand to cast Smoke to Daggers if all went to plan, a series of daggers would materialise, whip around her in an orbit before thumping into the nearby wall. She might have to offer to cast a mending spell afterwards on the wall, but it was meant to be a show right?

No daughter of Taiwo Adebayo, no grandaughter of Ife Gbadamosi, could falter in a transfiguration competition and feel anything less than abject shame. Privately, Genia hoped her sister knew that (but also wished Callista well).

It had been impressed upon the young ladies that an animagus transforumation would not qualify, for it was not technically spellcraft. Human transformation was not, however, forbidden in and of itself. Thus, Genia moved to transfigure her eyes, usually a dark brown, into a vivid purple.

Now one step closer to the purse of five galleons, Franny took a breath to steady herself. The likes of Miss Adebayo and Miss Parkinson, they were simply here to show off. Emma Flitwick was here to... to... show she was something more than just the Ravenclaw betrothed to a professor? Fran, though, was here for security, as sad as that was, to fight for a brilliant future.

Deftly, the Ravenclaw set about transfiguring a rose into a ruby.

Divona was surprised to have made it past the first round, a fact that her face no doubt registered, in spite of her efforts to the contrary. Hoping to continue this momentum, Divona moved to vanish a chair.

Porphyria wasn’t judging this competition herself, but if she never had to see anyone charm their dress a different colour again it would be too soon.

At least Transfiguration was more interesting. She tried to turn a writing desk into a raven.

Callista felt the chip on her shoulder more than ever when it came to Transfiguration. She felt it at having to hold a wand to perform magic; she felt it whenever her family talked about the animagus process. If she failed here and now, none of them would forget it, even if they pretended to. She didn’t need that.

She selected a parasol from the props table, and opening it up above her head, Callista attempted to transfigure it into a miniature decorative tree.

It was unfortunate that she probably would not get any points for “accidentally” vanishing Miss Adebayo.

She opened a book in her hands, pages splayed to show its illustrations, and tried to turn the book into a similarly-patterned fan.

Hermia was pleased with the first round of results, her resulting charm raising her spirits as she continued. She was left in a rather mixed group of young witches, her experience with them varying widely.

It didn't matter whom she was against, her task was the same. She could perform on demand; she was a student, after all. Removing a brooch from her dress, Hermia set it before her and aimed to transfigure the brooch into a book, more specifically, a copy of the Tempest that she used in a reading a few summers past.

Glad to have advanced, Lycoris decided to transfigure her fan into a bouquet of flowers.

Never one to be described as timid or dainty, Persephone cast draconifors on a metal urn.

Transfiguration had never been Sisse's strong point. But she had worked tirelessly at it over the years, enough so that she could be confident in casting a spell. Especially one she used regularly. Her eyes skimmed over the props lined up before settling on a shawl and a parasol. Perfect. She summoned it to her as she focused on her task.

Sisse spoke the incantation for a switching spell to switch the knitted blue yarn of the shawl with the white lace edging the parasol, intending the shawl to become lace and the edging of the parasol to become knitted. It was a transfiguration spell that Sisse would not have been able to have made Calla's dress without and one she had seen her mother produce many a time during her girlhood.

It was a little known fact that Lottie rather adored rabbits. As such she actually rathe enjoyed the lapifors spell she'd learned as a school girl and liked to practice it when she wanted a companion at home. Not that her home ever was quiet enough to warrant needing a companion, but it was nice to be able to have one that couldn't demand you converse with them. With a serene smile Lottie aimed at a golden pillow among the props and said, "Lapifors." Anticipating the fluffy golden bunny she would typically find after such a spell.

Ida was rather disappointed she could not leverage her Animagus form, and now wasn’t so sure the audience could appreciate the subtle nuance of transformation and conjuration at all. Still, she wanted to at least offer a nod to her ability. Ida performed a spell her brother loved to see her do around Lunar New Year.

First she retrieved an ornate hairpin from her hair, showing to the audience the handsome lacquered red and black and gold baubles ornament. She tapped it once, transforming it into her hand from ornament to a little figurine of a dragon. Feigning thought as she observed it, Ida gave her audience a smile, then with a flick of her wrist tossed it up into the air. With a nonverbal flourish of her wand, the hairpin should transform into a lucky Chinese dragon at least four men long, and it would dance and swirl in the air above the contestants. She was sure to transform it back to a hairpin that dropped into her palm before it could breathe any fire that came too close.

Well. This was rather more dramatic than the matrons’ efforts at the same round—not in a good way. Oh, there were a number of well-executed efforts, of course: Miss Chang’s dragon was particularly engaging, in hs own un-expert estimation. Others, though...

The elder Miss Adebayo, in stark contrast to her sister and grandmother, failed to execute her spell at all, a falter that would undoubtedly damage her pride. Miss Thompsett had done well in the season so far and had been the one to watch at charms, but her parasol hung limply following her efforts. Even this paled entirely in comparison to the efforts of the young Miss Flitwick.

Fitz did not know what had gotten lost in magical translation, but the young witch’s efforts to transfigure the pocket-watch had instead merged the two of them, rendering Miss Flitwick with watch hands and roman numerals upon her face.

He allowed the ensuing hubbub to settle before directing the young (and some aging) ladies to initiate their illusions.

Your character has 72 hours to post their illusion casting, after which the round will be scored. If everyone posts, the lowest six will be eleminated.

It was a massive relief when the beautiful pale blue butterflies actually managed to flutter out from the flower and she hadn't somehow screwed up her own spell due to all the nerves; even if she didn't win the competition, she hoped that lovely display of feminine magic put her above her competition in the eyes of the suitors that may have been watching. Speaking of the feminine, she had to literally choke down her hysterical laughter at not only Miss Flitwick failing so miserably at the last round, but the picture perfect Miss Thompsett and the elder Miss Adebayo. She supposed if nothing else, Minnie could say she beat them. Of course, she couldn't rest yet, as there was still the younger Miss Adebayo, along with some of the older debutantes to compete against. She supposed she wouldn't be angry if Mattie won, or even the young Miss Gambol, but now was not the time to throw in the towel already.

Illusions... they were much more complicated, and would take Jessamine's full concentration; and for that, she forced herself not to look out at the crowd of people watching them as if she spotted someone there for her, even if she knew they were there in the back of her mind, she feared it would throw her off. As she wanted to distance herself a bit from her competitors, whom she figured might try to make themselves blonde or green eyed, or some sort of beauty thing, she decided to go with a little more complex Disillusionment Charm that would blend her well into the background of the event, almost rendering her completely invisible, should she do well enough and concentrate hard.

Two rounds down and the pack was thinning, there was some talented young women casting all manner of spells, and the crowd was eating it up. As the cursebreaker admired the damage to the wall she would later have to mend she thought she would try something different for her next spell.

"Mirrioro" if her illusion worked she would be presented with a perfect circle of mirrored light to which she would pull a small blushed out of her pocket and mime putting her makeup on.
