Standing a bit over 5 feet nine inches, Adam has auburn hair and grey eyes. He is of a pretty sturdy build, and generally wears muggle clothes fitting of his station. He is right handed.History:
1854. Adam is born to a farming family. He has a pretty standard working class early childhood. He admittedly doesn't remember a lot of this time, given his age, and he mostly doesn't look too hard at it.
1861. A particularly harsh winter brings illness and death to the family, and Adam emerges the only survivor and, without any other family able (or willing?) to take him in, he's shuttled off to an orphanage.
1862. It's not all bad, really. Adam finds friends in two younger boys, Derek and Jack, and they quickly become his new family. Life in the orphanage is anything but easy, but they have each other to look out for one another, and that at least makes the whole thing survivable.
1864. Salvation--or at least adoption--comes in the form of Grace McKinnon, a wealthy middle class widow, and miracle of all miracles, she adopts Adam and his two friends.
1865. Adam goes to Hogwarts, a possibility that had seemed like a pipe dream even before the orphanage. He is sorted into Ravenclaw and works to prove that he deserves to be there.
1867. Eliza joins the family, and honestly, Adam is doing very well as the eldest sibling in this family. He is generally protective of his younger siblings, though he likes to think he's not overbearing about it. Or at the very least trusts that they'd all be quick to let him know if he was.
For his third year, Adam picks up Care of Magical Creatures and Ghoul Studies as his electives. He also tries out for, and ultimately makes, the quidditch team this year as a beater.
1868. Edith joins the fold, and Derek and Jack join Adam at Hogwarts, both in Gryffindor.
1870. Five years of dedication pay off when Adam sits his OWLs and does very well. He continues on with Care of Magical Creatures, Ghoul Studies, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration.
1871. Adam is pleasantly surprised to be made quidditch captain for his seventh year. Honestly, he attributes it mostly to all the extra practice he gets playing with his siblings over the summers.
1872. Adam finishes school with very respectable grades, and goes to work at the Ministry in the Beast Division. Meanwhile, the family grows again with the addition of Isabeau.
1877. It's a rough year with magic being discovered, and all Adam can really say about it is that he's grateful the family comes out of it unscathed--even if he worries about Derek being overworked.
1881. Female players are banned from playing quidditch, which is absurd, and Adam spends a lot of time talking to people within the Ministry about getting it reversed.
1884. Summer brings Plague and fire to Hogsmeade, with the Plague affecting Adam, Eliza and Isabeau, but they all manage to survive it--and Adam tries very hard not to think about history almost repeating itself.
1885. The McKinnons move to London, which honestly makes Adam feel better, even if terrible things can happen just as--or possibly more--easily in the city as they can in Hogsmeade.
1887. The World Market incident takes Grace McKinnon and nearly takes Isabeau, leaving the family devastated and with Adam at the head of the family. He is, if anything, more determined to do right by his family than ever--and if that means supporting them through all their endeavors--even the less conventional ones--well, he doesn't see anything wrong with that. They've never fit neatly into convention, anyway.
1891. Adam is promoted to the head of the Beast Division, which feels well-earned after nearly two decades of hard work in the department.
1894. Present day. Life more or less continues as normal--for a certain definition of normal. He's focusing on his career and his family, which is as normal as it gets for Adam.
Personality:
RESPONSIBLE. FAMILY-ORIENTED. ROMANTIC. DEDICATED.
