Whoever had invented corsets had clearly invented them with the intention being a modern chastity melt, Dahlia thought as Quin tugged and pulled on the strings she couldn't see. The corset was looser at least, but she was going to have to brave the hooks on the front. Quin's fingers on the bare skin above her chemise brought all the feelings back - including the shaking fingers. But she valiantly tried to unhook the first latch with no luck. A nervous giggle bubbled out of her, but when he kissed the back of her neck, Dahlia wanted to melt. More specifically she wanted to melt into Quin. Her quiet moan of delight mixed with a nervous giggle as she managed, "Q-quin," But it was unclear if she was scolding him or encouraging him. Her hands forgot the corset as she reached behind, cradling his head to her neck, her fingers sliding into his hair. She had meant to ask him to help with the hooks, but coherent words were not escaping her lips at the moment.

Quin was starting to hesitate less and less every time she said his name. This time in only brought a hint of a grin against her skin as she tangled her fingers in his hair. While he hadn't been paying strict attention to what she was doing on the other side of the corset, he had seen enough that he could figure out now how to get the damned thing off. So— he slid his hands around from the laces to the hooks, his much steadier hands having better luck at unhooking the eyes from their latch, one by one, until it fell away in his hands.

He unceremoniously tossed it onto the nearby sofa, his hands finding the ties of her skirt that he hadn't managed to get entirely undone. There were far too many layers to women's clothing. It was unintelligibly frustrating to say the least. It had to just be the chemise now right? Surely there were drawers under there somewhere, but as long as there was no boning of corsets or voluminous skirts, he could probably handle the rest. Probably.

That figured out, he had much better reign over her figure, hands running down her sides before he tugged at the overskirts, trying to loosen those completely as well. She had him in a good grip, so he couldn't move too much, but he was content to keep exploring with his hands, giving her time to acclimate to the sensations.

His arms wrapped around her, answering the request that had gotten lost. Each shift of his fingers moving against the fabric of her chemise, a caress in its own right. Dahlia might have whined at this - in fact she likely did, as she pressed back into Quin. Her legs were starting to feel as if she might faint, although her head did not seem clouded with that sort of fog.

And then the corset was off, the cool air of the room rushing in through the thin cotton fabric against the heat of her skin and Quin's fingers... they caused tingles of sensation where he touched her sides. Her breathe hitched as his hands slid past her breasts then began to attack her skirt. Once the overskirt was off there was only two petticoats, her chemise, and her drawers. Thank the maiden that it was only a traveling gown, had she been wearing a ball gown Dahlia was quite certain she - and Quin - may not have survived.

The ties of the skirts loosened, the skirt falling past her hips - except for the one tie Quin had knotted earlier - from which the whole skirt now hung lopsided. Dahlia loosened her hands and added them to Quin's to work on the knot. Annoyed with her clothing, Dahlia abandoned it and turned back into Quin's embrace, wrapping her arms around him, in part to hold herself up, and in part to simply be in the safe net of his arms. Her lips lifted to his lips. She was annoyed with the tie on her skirt, at this point Quin could rip the whole thing off and Dahlia wouldn't have minded. She'd have minded in the morning, when she sighed at the work she'd have to do to fix such a nicely made gown, but this wasn't the moment. This heat, this desire wasn't worth worrying over frippery such as skirt ties.

There was little to no hesitation now, the two of them sinking into a groove, an easy ebb and flow as they relaxed into the moment. Whatever he had done to muck up her skirt was irritating and she wasn't exactly helping, trying to undo the knot and then distracting him. Quin gave one more rough tug on the tie and felt it come free, whether it loosened or ripped he wasn't sure, but he could fix to tomorrow: he did in fact, know how to sew small things. Oh Merlin, more layers.

Quin chose instead to focus on the now. A tomorrow problem indeed though as she pressed against him and there was very little left to the imagination, just a couple of thin layers of fabric separating them. He met the kiss with a little less restraint than before, the fervent heat and her eagerness fraying his resolve. His hands searched for more ties, wandering over the curves of her body as he did, finding the next laces easily enough and undoing those too.

Skirts might actually be the death of him. He pushed the last of the petticoats away, leaning down some to make sure she could step out, before impatience got the better of him and instead he placed his hands around the back of her thighs, lifting her off the ground as he slid his arms beneath her bottom to hold her up.

Turning toward the bed he set her back down gently, taking a moment to breathe and drink in the sight of her, hair loose and cheeks flushed. He didn't wait too long however before joining her, his body hovering just above hers, as he captured her mouth once more.

Quin's fingers continued to work at the knot as Dahlia focused on his lips, her hands pulling at the back of his shirt to pull it out from his trousers. Why were men's clothing so much simpler? Perhaps she ought to start wearing trousers and shirts as well? There was a final tug at the skirt and Dahlia dimly heard the rip of fabric, but she didn't care as her fingers skimmed the warm skin of his back. His fingers roamed her waist searching for the ties to her petticoats, they left trails of sparks in their wake through the fabric of her chemise. And then there was cool air as her petticoats pooled around her ankles.

Quin leaned forward slightly and Dahlia wrapped an arm around his shoulder to step from her clothes, but instead he surprised her. A delighted squeal flew from her lips as he hoisted her up into his arms, his hands under her butt, her legs with no place to go but around him, pressing her molten core right into his stomach. There was a small tremor of mortification at that thought, but he moved quickly, seeming unbothered by this development. She hardly had time to take in the sensation of his hands in that most unknown space before he had laid her out on the bed.

There was a moment then, when he stood there and stared at her, where she felt both want, a desire so deep she had never known the like before, and embarrassment. Quin didn't allow her time to dwell on the latter emotion, instead he brought himself to her. Dahlia wasted no time, wrapping herself back into his embrace, pulling him closer, meeting his lips in a frenzy of her own. "'Quin." She found herself sighing against his lips. There had been such love in that look he had gazed at her with that she could not doubt it and now she sought to return it. To show him just how much she loved him, wanted this, would ignore the uncomfortable moments if they led to kisses and embraces like this.

As they laid there she missed the closeness of their embrace standing. Wanting only to feel his hips at her own, Dahlia pushed her hips toward him, wishing he'd wrap his arms around her legs again as he had when he carried her. There were so many things she wanted at once, so many new and overwhelming sensations that Dahlia was at a loss as to how to tell him what she wanted - no what she needed.

Everything was heating up and he needed some sort of cool down, something to slow the need and so he dragged his shirt over his head, tossing it aside, hoping the cool air in the room would help. Dahlia must have felt the same, that look in her eyes, the desperation in the kiss, mirroring his own desire, just not containing it quite as well.

Things were reaching a sense of urgency though that Quin hadn't been anticipating. With the dissolution of the awkwardness brought about this rush that he couldn't quite hold at bay, despite his best efforts. Dahlia was making it increasingly difficult, that roll of her hips against his had him stifling a groan into her skin, fingers curling into the fabric of her chemise roughly, seeking some sort of outlet for the pent up energy.

She seemed hell-bent on being as close as possible and so he rolled beside her, pulling her in close, let his hands roam over her hips, back up her thighs, fabric sliding out of the way as he did so. He was still trying to gauge her reactions, hoping he didn't make any wrong moves, relieved to find that she still seemed quite enthusiastic. Still, he knew, thanks to some other awkward conversations with mates, that there was an easy way to tell if she was ready. Quin tentatively worked up the courage, trying to not make anything too obvious, fingers kneading along her skin, over her hip once more, moving to explore just there and wait for her reaction.

It wasn't what she wanted, Dahlia almost protested, but he was holding her close and her snuggled her next to him. Her fingers ran up his back mindlessly, registering what she was doing as her mind also tried to take in the fact that her chemise was slipping upwards, her breasts bear against his chest. Her hips pushing into him, wanting more, more of.... well whatever this was.

Wherever Quin's fingers roamed felt as if the flickering of candles had touched it, they trailed along her body, meeting skin. Dahlia's breath hissed inward as his hand slid downward, toward that very spot she felt so self conscious of. Involuntarily she grabbed his wrist, but already his fingers had dipped between her thighs, discovering the moistness there, and then, they went further, touching that place. "Oh!" Dahlia had no idea how she felt about this development, but she definitely felt embarrassed. Was this normal? Her body bucking toward his fingers, wanting more than the hint of what was to come.

He paused briefly as her hand grabbed his wrist, but it didn't quite line up with the rest of her reaction. Quin was still in uncharted waters here too, trying to navigate the situation based on very little knowledge and her responses. "Relax," he whispered, hoping she would ease back and let him continue to take the lead. His own arousal was reaching a point where it couldn't be ignored for much longer, but he still wanted to make sure she was ready before things took that final turn.

His uncertainly waned as her hips pressed against his hand and he could tell she was getting caught up in her head again. Making the quick decision to surge onward, he pushed himself back up, sliding his knees between hers gently, lowering his lips to her neck and collarbone once more. With his free hand, he pulled at the buttons on his trousers, trying not to let himself get caught up in his own thoughts about where his was headed. His breathing was labored as he managed to get the pants off and out of the way, trying not to think too much about the fact that he was in fact completely naked (not for the first time in front of a woman) but at least the first intentional time and for a specific reason.

Easing back, he sort of aligned his hips with hers, but stopped, eyes searching her expression for any hesitation. "Ready?" He managed in little more than a breathless whisper, praying to Merlin her mother had prepared her for this next bit.

His voice grounded her, calmed her, and she listened to him, letting herself mutely nod as she followed his lead. His lips found her skin again as he moved, finding a way between her legs where no one had ever been. She didn't have time to dwell on this as he fumbled with his trousers, then it was skin touching skin. Like the softest warmest satin. Dahlia loved the feeling. She didn't care how wanton this would make her feel looking back on it, she loved the sensation.

Quin's voice drew her gaze, she nodded. "Yes." Her voice a plea against their heavy breathing. She couldn't think on it too much, wouldn't second guess it. No, she wanted him around her, wanted this love between them to continue twisting and taking shape, growing and taking her where she had never been. She wanted more. She wanted him.

Dahlia wrapped her hands around his neck, pulling him in to kiss him, to show him her willingness, how much she wanted to be his. How much she was his.

Their hips pressed together, joining them, filling her - and despite her flushed body's protests to the contrary, it felt uncomfortable. It pulled at her, as if telling her she didn't want this, but her whole body seemed to rebel, telling her she did. She pulled Quin in closer, wrapping her arms around him in a hug and burying her head in his shoulder as she bit down on the whimper that came from pushing even further as her body wanted. But then the pain was gone and she was adjusting to him - and then he was gone. That did make her whimper, wanting him, until he was back and their bodies found a rhythm that changed her whimper to breathless panting. "Quin." She didn't know if it was a question or a plea, all she knew was that her body was a mix of sensations and feelings that she had never experienced before, blinding, and overwhelming, and scary all at once.

Quin didn't need to be told twice, the kiss helped, but was a bit distracting. Nothing was as fluid or as smooth as he would hope, but eventually things became a little easier. It was all so awkward, trying to get their bodies to fit together and acclimated to the new sensations. He started off slow, almost painfully so, being told it was uncomfortable on her end at first. The more... primal urges were hard to keep at bay, but soon enough they worked themselves into a compatible rhythm.

Determined not to rush anything, despite the desperation crawling across his skin, Quin leaned back a little to readjust, slowing again at her utterance of his name. Things seemed to be moving in the right direction, so he hoped she wasn't uncomfortable anymore. Uncertain, he leaned down, and brushed his lips against hers. "Are you alright?" It came out in a hoarse whisper, but he had to double check. He'd hate himself if something was wrong and he missed it.

"Mmmhm." It wasn't even a word that she managed to utter in response. Her body didn't feel like her own before. It was as if she were burning and flying and melting all at once. She nodded slightly, a moan escaping her lips unbidden. All of it left her wanting more, despite the jagged pain at her core, the tightness building inside her, the sounds of their bodies meeting. How could something so base, something so .... unusual, feel like this? Leave her wanting just this, this building, burning, fiery, terrifying feeling. The sensation was almost overwhelming, promising something more just a bit further down the road. It was a promise her body seemed to understand as it pushed her hips into his, urging him to keep going, to keep drawing them further down this path, further, faster. She wanted to melt, to burn, to meld into him, into her husband.

That arch of her body against his was all the response he really needed. It was too easy to get lost in the sensations and he could appreciate how overwhelmed Dahlia must feel.

Inexperience got the better of him though, not that either one of them knew any better at the moment. All of the build up reached its peak a few moments later, stalling his movements until he nearly collapsed on top of her. He managed to keep himself from squishing her, looking down at her in the dim light of the room, trying to gauge her current state. His heavy breathing matched the thrumming of his heart in his chest, but he was afraid to move, even on shaky arms.

Quin was a little self conscious now, as the cloud of arousal started to dissipate. Still, he smiled tentatively at her, using one hand to brush her wild hair from her face.

The feelings were almost more than she could handle, her fingers dug into Quin's shoulders. A mew escaped her lips, but he stopped moving, going rigid in her arms before rolling to the side. Her body screamed for more, wanted him back inside her, pushing her wherever she had been going, but her mind was grateful she hadn't found where that road went. It had been an overwhelming and scary edge that she had been approaching.

Her cheeks were flushed from the exertion as she looked at him, her body shuddering just from the mere touch of his fingers brushing her hair away. "That wasn't so bad." She found herself admitting with a nervous giggle.

Quin couldn't help himself; he laughed at her appraisal of the situation. "Definitely not bad." On his end anyway. He clearly needed some... practice, but he suspected that was what the rest of their marriage was for? Or part of it anyway.

Reaching down for the sheets, he pulled them up, still a little self-conscious. He stretched out his loose limbs and leaned back against the pillows more fully. He was still very aware of her body next to his and wondered how she was currently feeling. The day's exhaustion and the exertion settled into his bones and he continued to toy with her hair idly. "How're you feeling?" Merlin he hoped she was alright.

The sheets against her skin felt weird, but Quin's skin against her own was comforting so she snuggled close to him. It was a joy to be like this with him. To lay so close. To not have to worry if someone were to catch them. If only she'd known what kisses led too, if only she'd discovered how safe she felt, how... wild, before now. But then again that was probably why no one told them until they got married.

"Hm?" She'd gotten lost in her thoughts and looked up at him quizzically until her mind registered what he said. How was she? She honestly didn't know. Her body felt weird, wild, heated, let down, excited, sore. The list went on and on. But she knew what her heart felt in that moment. "Happy." Dahlia reached up to place her hand on his cheek before shifting to kiss him. "You?"

"Good, that's good." He mumbled as she snuggled in. He felt the breath he'd been holding in release, a long exhale of the residual tension in his chest. "I'm good." He agreed.

Letting his head fall back against the pillows, the kiss surprised him a little. He leaned into it softly, tangling his hand in her hair gently. All of the fervent heart from earlier was gone, his energy waned, but there was a comfort in this. Quin could certainly get used to this.
