Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

UC/MCAB | REP 8+ | Sugarplum NYE Gala
What: Sugarplum New Years Eve Gala Who: Notable UC peer of good standing that wishes to throw this type of gala for their family/friends. Cost: n/a Where: London Why:Because Fox needed to cause a scene and blow up some ships NYE shenanigans! When: evening, December 31st into Jan 1st
NOTABLE: A portion of the drinks have been spiked with amortentia! Obviously not everyone in attendance is afflicted, but some will be prior to the host realizing as much and attempting to remedy before midnight.
A lovely London home has been decorated in all candy themed decor. Much like a gingerbread house, the interior has been turned into a virtual candy-land. Massive lollipops flank the doorframes; peppermints the size of dinner plates hang from elaborate blown arrangements on the ceiling; even powered sugar snow has been enchanted to fall on the scene and disintegrate before reaching the guests. The drinks and hors d'oeuvres are all candy themed, though some are savory, and there are a number of different fondue fountains around. Some white chocolate, some licorice-spice, some peppermint mocha, etc. Get jiggy with it <3 There will also be a private rendition of the 'dance of the sugarplum faerie' by none other than the lovely and extraordinarily talented Ms. @"Sophia Voss" (courtesy of the Magical Ballet of London) just before midnight.

ACAB | REP ANY | WEDDING
What: Ainsworth-Binns Wedding Who: For friends and colleagues of the bride and groom Cost: Typically, a gift. Where: Various Locations in London Why: Marriage When: 7 January
Timothy Ainsworth and @"Juliana Binns" will tie the knot in a church in London at quarter-past ten in the morning. The wedding is neither large nor particularly small; anyone on reasonably friendly terms with the bride and groom, or working connections, would have received an invitation. After the wedding guests are invited to the event room at the Museum of Magical Miscellany where light refreshments will be offered for a few hours. There will be an obligatory dance for the newly minted couple and there will be music throughout but there isn't actually a dance floor for guests because Jules doesn't have time for that nonsense. The reception formally lasts a few hours, at which point anyone who hasn't left yet will be invited back to the Binns residence to keep Jules' mom company while she tearfully and drunkenly repeats how happy she is that this is finally happening, and also occasionally gets teary about the fact that Juliana is actually leaving.
What: Memorial for Victor Daphnel Who: Victor's mother issued invitations to UC society, anyone she knew to be on friendly terms with him, and work colleagues. Cost: No. Where: Asphodel Cemetery Why: He has perished When: 3 January, 1892
The burial takes place in the afternoon (just before sunset, since it's winter). At this point Victor himself will be hanging around vaguely on the edge of the cemetery because he can't decide whether it's in poor taste to attend your own funeral or not. Afterwards everyone is invited to the Daphnel Residence in Wellingtonshire for refreshments, where Victor will be awkwardly mingling and once again unsure of the protocol for this sort of thing. His widow Christabel Daphnel will probably be more visibly upset about his death than he is. He isn't used to ghost life yet and will probably accidentally put his hands/arms/feet/etc through multiple guests at the reception and give them death chills. Sorry.
About an hour into the reception there will be a bonfire outside, because someone read about funeral traditions involving fires and thought that might be fun and novel. The tone shifts more towards "celebration of life" for the bonfire portion of the night, and Victor is less likely to accidentally step through you while you're outside in the garden.
His father is notably not in attendance as a portkey could not be arranged so abruptly.
MC - UC | REP 8 + | New Years Day Lunch/Smoosefest
