Well, fuck. Theo was still slightly dazed and short of breath, his legs a little shaky under him, when he found Cash back at eye-level. Saying hi. Hi? That was – seriously stupid – but he couldn’t exactly scoff at it, because it wasn’t like he had anything clever on the tip of his tongue right now either. So – “hi,” he returned (equally stupid, but definitely better than thank you). And the awkwardness rushing back in with reality could have been much worse, if Lestrange hadn’t just grinned at him. Because maybe he was still bewildered about this and how he felt and how to ever put it into words; but it was nearly impossible not to grin back at Cash when he smiled. That was probably stupid too.
The longer he looked, the more furtive his smile turned, until he had to bite his lip to suppress the laugh. “Sorry,” he said, apologetically reaching out to try and flatten his hair for him, at least a little. “I think you, uh, might need to shower again.”
Not that he probably looked any less a mess, to be fair. Anyway, Cash might even get away with leaving here like that, with flying always some excuse for general dishevelment – well, maybe – but Theo didn’t have that same excuse. And, even more so than usual, he couldn’t fathom how he was going to go home and be normal and not think about it; not when his gaze kept getting caught on Lestrange’s mouth again and his cheeks felt like they had been permanently tinged pink.

Cassius Lestrange — Played by Beanie
"Hmm," Cash hummed in a vague note of agreement; he couldn't see himself but he was sure that he looked more messy than he usually did when he got back to London. And, in a tone that was more earnest than he would have liked to admit: "I'd say it's worth it, though." He didn't know what this meant — was trying very hard not to think about what this meant — but this was definitely worth it. Even putting aside his own release — it was worth it to see Gallivan look at him like that. (Fuck.)
"I probably — should try to get cleaned up, though," he said with a smile that would have been wry if it wasn't tinged with a sudden shyness. He would rather hide in this office for the rest of the evening, but — he really was going to have to go home.

Worth it. Yeah. Yeah, it was. Lestrange even sounded like he was being more than wry, there, and Theo was immediately certain that he was going to file that away to turn it over and over in his head again later, to relive the sound of it and probably make more of it than he was meant to – that, and the way he’d said Theo.
So – “If you have to,” he said, far more unabashed about the reluctance in it than he should have been. He didn’t have any good reason to tell Lestrange to stay – he’d only come here to avoid people and everyone would have gone home by now, and he might not have other plans but neither did Theo now, even if Cash could stay – but even so, he wished he would. They could do anything here, or sit around doing absolutely nothing, and it would still probably be better than any alternative.
But he could only stretch these moments so far and only hope there would be more of them, and there was only so much he dared say, so Theo just smiled back in something like surrender.
