My dear sister,
I trust that you and the children are well; I spent the evening at the club with your husband earlier in the week, but I know I have been negligent in my visits to you. I swear most solemnly that I shall make it up to you in the near future, but for the meantime, please do let this letter appease you.
I write with exciting news: I am to be married, to Miss Helga Scamander. I know that it will offend your romantic sensibilities, that I did not court and woo her with flowers and poetry before asking for her hand, but I hope that it will make you happy to know that I have considered the matter thoroughly, and consider Miss Scamander to be the very best match that I might hope for. Furthermore, I believe that the two of you will be well-suited as companions, and hope that you will welcome her with all the warmness befitting a new sister.
I trust you will have much to say on this matter, and look forward to your next letter.
With affection,
Aldous
