I hope this letter finds you in good health. I am writing to thank you for your company and time on the evening of August the eight. I greatly appreciated being introduced to you and found our conversation to be pleasantly engaging. It was one of the highlights of my evening. You need not reply if you have no wish to, I simply wanted to make my appreciation known.

Perhaps we will meet again in the future, at another event that could do with more culture.
