MACFUSTY AND AUROR REPORTED MISSING
London Bartender Reports "They Vanished At the Bar, Now That I Think About It"
Lachlan MacFusty, 30, and Auror Fallon Abernathy, 25, were reported missing yesterday morning by their respective friends and family yesterday morning. Witnesses reported that the two were last seen on the evening of August 22nd after the abrupt end to the Quidditch World Cup.
Mr. MacFusty was responsible for the bludger that struck his sister, Miss Tilda MacFusty, and killed Mrs. Ethel Turnbull. When asked why his disappearance was reported a startling four days after he was last seen, Mr. Conall MacFusty, father of the missing, told reporters, "Lachlan was understandably upset by Saturday's events, and we assumed he'd gone to stay with friends to avoid the public eye. It was only after contacting his friends did we realize he was nowhere to be found."
Similarly, Auror Fallon Abernathy's friend and room-mate, Miss Skovgaard, reported her missing yesterday morning, but was not available for comment. The auror department has launched an internal investigation into the disappearances, offering only that Auror Abernathy was not scheduled to be on-duty at the time of her disappearance.
The two cases, though initially treated as separate disappearances, were linked once investigators were able to interview Mr. Peter Barnaby, reportedly the last person to see Mr. MacFusty and Auror Abernathy before they allegedly vanished into thin air. "The woman approached Mr. MacFusty, who had been alone for at least an hour. They had a brief conversation before disappearing. It didn't look like apparition to me."
