Charms are spells that add to or alter the properties of an object, such as its color, speed, visibility, and usage. Some objects can become bewitched if a lasting charm is placed upon it. Many charms are considered practical since they often help in day-to-day tasks or to help protect others from harm or discovery. Charms are also useful in dueling and altering the memory of others.

A few practical charms I have seen are spells one uses to aid in cleaning, locking doors, making objects smaller in order to transport them more easily, mending objects, and food preparation. Charms are incredibly useful and often powerful spells that are essential for a witch or wizard to learn.
