Appearance:

Noah does not cut an imposing figure. He stands barely above average at 5’8” and though he might not be done growing, he feels slighted anyway. His dark brown hair is curly and a little unruly, so he keeps it cut short. Warm brown eyes light up when he talks about things he is passionate about and he is always nearly smiling. With expressive features, it is not hard to know how he is feeling or what he is thinking. Currently his ability to keep clean facial hair is patchy, but hopefully that’ll come in at some point too. Robes for work are truly a blessing; otherwise he is in a constant state of disheveled, shirt untucked, wrinkled or ink-stained, but mostly because he is too busy or distracted to care. He carries himself in a constant state of hurry and does not have much in the way of confidence, but generally he is approachable and friendly. He is left-handed, which does not help with his already-terrible handwriting.

History:

Childhood 1874 - 1885	Noah Graham joins his siblings as the last Farley sibling. He’s a boisterous, curious babe, demanding of attention. This simmers a bit as he gets older and finds better ways to occupy himself and fill his time. Unfortunately for Jemima, she is often his target for mischief, attempting to steal her journal once or twice and generally being a pest until he matures a little bit. His parents’ fondness for muggles is something he inherits and basically makes his Whole Personality. He loves tinkering with things like muggle clocks and other small machines and feats of engineering, which only gets more and more intricate as he gets older. His first act of magic is to charm something back together that he thought he’d broken beyond repair. His siblings all go off to Hogwarts without him, but by now, Noah has his books and his trinkets to keep him occupied until it is his turn the year after Jemima goes.
Hogwarts 1885-1892	It is to nobody’s surprise that he is sorted into Ravenclaw. Noah takes to academics at Hogwarts like a bird to flight. He reads voraciously, generally annoys his siblings while simultaneously ignoring them at large, because he is Too Busy. It is a pity he cannot take proper Muggle Studies until third year, but until then, he soaks up as much as he can. He makes a few close friends, who are not put off by his constant chatter, and by the time OWLs roll around, he’s pretty sure he wants to go to the ministry in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office. What could be more perfect? His Hogwarts experience is largely ordinary, save for anything secondhand he gets from Jemima’s debacles with a diary and other things. He’s never quite understood her social life or the constant need to keep a record of it, but he stands by her as best he can and glares at anyone who gives her a hard time. Only he can be a thorn in her side, thank you very much. His NEWTs come and go without much fanfare and he’s off to the ministry as planned.
Internship 1892-1893	His requisite internship is somewhat off putting; he knows where he wants to be, and yet he is made to shuffle around departments to see where it is he will land.
Artifacts 1893-Present	It does not take him long to settle into this office. Noah knows muggles, their things and their lifestyle like the back of his hand. What he’s not great at is interpersonal skills, paperwork and general organization. It’s going great, fam. Jemima is caught in Scandal and Noah is a little too oblivious to put much stock into it. She seems happy now that things have settled down, which is good, right? Right.

Personality:

CURIOUS | INTELLIGENT | DISORGANIZED
Noah is a creature of whim and fancy. He has no idea which way is up most days and his desk is a mess. He is smart, but has absolutely no common sense, no sense of organization or organization and is generally a little awkward. He has never filled out a single piece of paperwork right, like ever. He can and will go off on long-winded rants about muggles, their inventions and their lifestyle unprompted without regard to anyone’s interest. That said, he does know what he’s talking about as he often takes muggle items apart and puts them back together. He reads on a wide variety of topics from muggle politics to Grecian ship making, purely for enjoyment. His enthusiasm is high enough that he appears eager and willing to work with just about anybody and will often take the strangest of cases just for his own amusement. Socially oblivious, he either has his head up in the clouds or in a book and that is often how he is found both at work and out in the wild.
