Mr. J. Alfred Darrow,
June 22nd
I don't know if you've been reading the news at home, but it's bad. Magic-ending fog, my inability to fix it, and then there was the troll. (I met the troll. I nearly died, but not as nearly as Mr. Adlard did. And if there was going to be any trouble, it was probably nixed by the troll.)
But, regardless. I read your book. I read your book and you should have told me how hard it was to, you know, survive. I hope you didn't engage in cannibalism, or anything similarly odd, as that's rather gruesome and would make your life even more difficult at parties.
You mentioned someone named L. in your book. I suppose that is the woman you mentioned having known once when I asked you, and I hope that that's all done, as the book leaves things rather open-ended and I wasn't sure if you ended up still engaged when you returned. I hope you understand my concern.
I also would like to emphasize that I'm not dead by troll. I'm actually supposed to be back at work tomorrow, given the national crisis. How's Avalon?
