Zelda stood up from her armchair, abandoning her project, and walked across the living room until she was behind Alfred's chair. She folded her arms over the back of it and kissed the corner of Alfred's mouth.

Alfred smiled beneath the kiss. He reached up to catch her hand as she finished and brought it to his lips and kissed it — not in a chivalrous brush against the knuckles, but a slower and more sensual kiss at the space where her base of her thumb met her palm.

"If you're worried about it," he teased as he let go of her hand, "We could give it our best effort this afternoon." He raised an eyebrow at her and smiled suggestively, though it was difficult to keep from chuckling.

In spite of the seed of worry she could not entirely dispel, Zelda beamed at Alfred. "Well, we have to give it a good effort before you leave," she said, as if she had not been planning on doing so regardless of whether or not they had the conversation. She was too entertained to be properly suggestive, but the kiss to her palm had warmed her, and she leaned down to kiss Alfred deeply again.
