Appearance: Agrimony stands at a solid five foot eleven inches. As a child and up until when he suspected his mother was trying to kill him, he made a perfect picture of a healthy upper class child: bright eyes, well-fed and well-rested. After he moved out Agrimony developed a severe case of insomnia and paranoia, which caused dark circles to stamp themselves below his pale blue eyes. Most at Hogwarts would remember Agrimony as round faced with blonde hair, though now his complexion has paled, his features have sharpened and his hair has darkened. He sports a scar from a bullet wound on his right hand. He sticks to wearing darker tones and fabrics that hold up well when experimenting, though much like his mother, at home, he can be found in some sort of state of undress: usually without his shirt or his shoes. His wand arm is his right; though he shoots guns with his left.
History:
Betony told me there were two screams that afternoon in the house: mine, out of devastation, and hers, likely from pain, I suppose. Being suddenly thrown down the steps will do that to a person's body, I've been told. I don't believe I recall that part either. I was too busy playing with my toy wagon that had somehow mended itself. It was her fault anyway.
Looking back, Sage must have been pleased for our Mother to finally have a proper female to play dress-up with — though, I don't think Mother's playing dress-up with Sage stopped until after that. Perhaps that's why Sage is the way he is. I must remember to ask him in the future.
But then again, I suppose I wonder sometimes who I would be had Mother not decided to play with Fate.
But I do remember that night.
Muggle Studies had gotten the better of me at Hogwarts. I hadn't taken N.E.W.T.s for them, but I remember hearing about gun powder and how volatile it could be. Unfortunately, my curiosity got the better of me, and well...
You could say I was lucky that someone decided to set fire to Hogsmeade at the precise moment I realized my miscalculations.
I cannot remember when it was that a maid took pity and told me of her suspicions. Naturally, I couldn't have Mother knowing that the maid told me. After I managed to get out was when I knew I had to remain on guard. Since then, I've never forgotten a face.
I do wish I remember where I'd buried that maid, though.
How terribly inconvenient.
Personality: Resentful. Cunning. Sadistic. Skewed sense of morality. Rarely forgets a face. Manipulative. Creative. Resourceful.
For anyone privy to know him on a very personal level, Agrimony has a very skewed moral code. His cardinal rule is that no item he creates should be used to harm to a woman or child, however, that only extends as far as to whom he deals with directly. Any extra hands that his creations manage to pass through after his original sale is beyond both his care and control. Having grown up in a household where he was both looked over and made purposefully ill with the express hope of his life ending has made Agrimony paranoid, observant and most of all, good at slipping into the shadows when he needs to.
He is slightly antagonistic of his brother, Valerian, however, deep down he also feels sorry for him. After trying so hard to please their mother and failing, Agrimony has made peace with it and moved on, though he has an inkling Valerian cannot say the same. He holds equal parts sympathy and envy over this. Despite his paranoia and issues with his family, outsiders who know him would do well not to mess with any of them, cousins included.
Upon graduating, Agrimony has since stopped attempting to be charming; he never had any sort of capacity for it, though that doesn't mean he doesn't put up a front like the rest of his family. He simply has stopped attempting to draw attention to himself as someone with a silver tongue. Agrimony knows his talent and why it's in high demand on the black market, and his abilities as a businessman have grown since his start. He's kind where he can be and ruthless where he must be.
