Appearance: With an average enough height of 5’9 and a build that tends towards stocky he cuts an attractive and personable figure through town. Well-dressed, though not flashily so, he believes in looking respectable and classy rather than showing off his happy station in life. Philip possesses a handsome face and a smile from his is very well earned, although it isn't a prize hard to come by.
History:
1847: Philip is born the first child of Matthew and Clarice Calendar, a lower middle class half-blood family whose livelihood comes from his father’s greengrocers in a magical district of north London. He is a happy child and displayed in the shop to the delight of his father’s regular customer’s, who coo over him so much that his mother is largely able to get back to work. Philip sleeps in the weighing scales.
1851: Thomas is born and Phlip immediately takes to his new responsibilities as a big brother.
1853: Phlip displays his first signs of magic by making his mother’s embroidery re-stitch itself because he thought a cat would look better than a bird and his mother was secretly thrilled.
1855: Matthew is born. The three brothers will be close all their lives.
1858: Receiving his Hogwarts letter Philip attends school for the first time and is sorted into Slytherin, the hat immediately recognising his ambitious nature.
1861: In his fourth year Philip becomes the beater on the house Quidditch team.
1863: And then becomes the captain in his six year, maintaining all his life that the beater is actually the hardest role on the team.
1865: Graduates Hogwarts, with mostly average marks apart from in Care of Magical Creatures, Herbology and Transfiguration, where he excels and is encouraged by his professor to pursue the training to become an animagus.
1866-1877: For the next decade Philip works in his father’s shop, doing more than simply entertaining customers this time and here he learns the skills that will see him become such a success in the future. His brothers, to Philip and his father’s disappointment, opt not to join them but they try not to begrudge them too much. It is during this time that Philip fulfills his ambition to become an animagus.
1877: Following their exposure to the muggles and the exodus to Hogsmeade Philip is eager to follow suit but his father refuses, leading to a parting of the ways in which he finally leaves his parent’s shop. In Hogsmeade Philip immediately finds employment as the Manager at the Beautiful Beasts Boutique, a place that combines several of his loves.
1882: Having saved cleverly, and with an injection of capital from his father too, Philip is able to purchase the shop he has loved so much.
1883: Philip is scared witless by a fox-woman and develops a nervousness of the dark, prostitutes and foxes all at once. Later in the year he meets Adella Beauregard for the first time and is immediately smitten.
1884: Philip is gifted with a ticket for the vaccination against the plague sweeping through Hogsmeade and immediately tries to give it to Adella. Later in the year they begin to court officially.
1885: In the summer, following a terrifying troll attack, he apparates him and Adella to safety and in the heat of the moment, proposes marriage. She accepts thankfully and Phil is beyond thrilled.
1886: In May he and Adella marry.
1888: The question of children begins to bother Phil, namely why they haven’t had any yet. They’re both healthy and strong, and certainly have tried for them and yet: nothing.
Personality: Hard-working and steadfast Philip is proud of his professional achievements and rightly so. Friendly and personable to all he meets Philip is a gregarious man with few secrets for whom life has been nothing but a pleasant experience and thus he is always conscious to extend the same help he has himself received. Deeply in love with his wife Philip is flabbergasted that he has gone this long as a bachelor and wishes for the same happiness for all his friends.
