There is no obligation to write back or speak to me again, I would not blame you, but I would appreciate it if you read through it anyway. I apologize for my behavior, for saying those cruel things about you because of where you came from and for saying those mean things about Miss Valenduris because of what happened at the sorting. I should’ve been more compassionate and understanding.
It must be terrifying to be thrown into a world you didn’t grow up in, especially after what just recently happened in London, and I hope that you don’t feel completely unwelcome. A senior student, especially one who is president of a club like me, should be welcoming and I failed you because of some petty gossip I thought meant something. I hope you know that you belong here at Hogwarts and you’ll make Ravenclaw proud one day, though, I’d argue you’d make a fair Gryffindor with how brave you were standing up for your friend like you did.
At least our detention is over, right? Anyway, I hope your family is safe.

I apologize for my behavior, for saying those cruel things about you because of what you did in the Great Hall, it was cruel and I should have had a lot more compassion for you.
You know, in my first year, I was sorted differently from my closest confidante too, even into the same house as your sister. Chessie was placed in Hufflepuff and while I held it together during the ceremony I cried all night for a month, terrified we’d grow apart. But, I will tell you that we didn’t and neither will you and your sister. I won’t pretend to understand what you meant the other week when you spoke of death omens, maybe it was related to what happened in London, but if not, as someone who’s had an older sibling who studied the art of divination, it is a rather imprecise form of magic and sometimes it’s not so literal. A death could mean simply a change in your life, even a good one at that.
I hope you’re doing better and your family is safe; keep your head up, okay?
