Appearance:
Diligent has brown hair and brown eyes that typical have a look of mischief to them even if he is actually entirely innocent. He stands at an average five feet, seven inches with a lean build. He wears the typical clothing of a middle class man when not wearing his healer robes though sometimes he forgets to change out of those. He also wears spectacles when he can remember where he put them or to put them on in the first place. He is right handed.History:
1860: Diligent is born the sixth and final child of the Oswald family. Like his siblings before him, his name includes his birth order.Personality: Lazy. Unmotivated. Immature. Eccentric. Absent-minded. Silly. Jovial. Friendly. Sociable.1867: Diligent shows his first signs of magic.
1871-1872: Diligent goes off to Hogwarts and is sorted into Gryffindor. He proves quickly to be adept at potions but quite abysmal to average in everything else. He is fine with that.
1872-1873: Diligent tries out for the Quidditch team on a whim and actually gets a spot! Except gross, there's a lot of practicing, getting dirty and just ugh. He quits the team after only one year of being on it.
1873-1874: Diligent adds Ghoul Studies and Divinition to his schedule since they sound the easiest. He is disappointed when they prove to be more difficult than he thought they would be. He does have a lot of fun making up random shit in Divination though.
1875-1876: Diligent sits for his owls and keeps Charms, Herbology, Potions and Transfiguration on his schedule.
1877-1878: The family all move to Hogsmeade. Diligent graduates from Hogwarts and begins an internship at Hogsmeade Hospital.
1879: Diligent manages to become a full healer.
1882: Diligent is relieved when he doesn't get drafted for the trial but Fortitude is. He does find it a bit messed up that ladies got pulled into it but better him than them, really.
1883: Diligent gets dosed by amortentia tea twice at two different times. The first time was with a woman and the second time was with a man. Both incidents were quite pleasant, really, which gives him one of the first and only hmmm, deep thinking time moments of his life.
1884: There is plague and fire. The former of which ends up claiming the lives of Humility and Purity.
1887: There is a reconciliation with the Queen that the family is mostly indifferent to. Minister Urquart resigns after his daughter is turned into a werewolf. Justin Ross becomes the new Minister. Still a middle class dude which Merrill is delighted by.
1888: Things were trucking along merrily until the fog rolled in along with Solstice Festival people. Ugh. Magic doesn't work which is highly inconvenient. Also, they are really put to task at work and Diligent finds himself making more potions than he ever has in his entire life. At least potion brewing is a thing he enjoys so that's something.
Other: + Dil is competent enough at his job and puts in just enough effort to not actually get himself fired but he will definitely not be asked to be an assistant head anytime soon.
+ As one can probably tell, the Oswald children all turned out to be entirely the opposite of the virtues they were named for. Oops.
+ Diligent is quite bright, really. He just doesn't care enough to put any effort into things like work.
+ The Oswalds all live together or beside one another out of choice due to how close they are. Most of them have a very Oswalds vs the World type of mentality and are oblivious to the fact that not every family thinks like that, personally thinking themselves quite normal.
