Darling resisted the urge to huff before smiling brightly. "Is that better, your Majesty?" She couldn't help asking. This dance felt like it was taking forever.

Kris barely managed to hide his smirk at her forced grimace-smile, but pursed his lips and pretended to appraise her for another long moment of the dance. “It’ll do.”

Annoying Miss Whitledge was terribly entertaining, he had decided. Which was why – as he finished their last turn and stepped back with a little mock-bow – he added before he let her go, “We’ll have to do this again sometime.”

(It wasn’t like he had anything better to do.)

Darling would sooner kiss flobberworms than willingly dance with Mister Lestrange again and this face briefly showed on her face. "Of course, Mister Lestrange," she managed to say politely before making her escape. How that cretin was related to the lovely Miss Frida Lestrange and yet be so horrible, she would never know.
