Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
I bet you thought I’d forget about you didn’t you? Don’t worry though, even stubbornly wrong people deserve gifts. Try not to eat them all at once. Would be a shame if you couldn’t properly fit a broom anymore.
Sincerely,
Your Friend Of Superior Knowledge
[Haphazardly wrapped in red paper is a present with a sparking silver bow on the top. Enclosed in the gift is a box of chocolate peppermint bark that when consumed will shoot steam out of one’s ears, a knit scarf with the Montrose Magpies emblem on it, and a roughly stitched together handmade mouse toy with two different buttons for eyes and a small bell at the end of its tail. Scrawled on an additional piece of enclosed parchment is 'Merry Christmas Fooligan'.]
Pa wants me to tell you he was very amused by your letter when he saw it sitting on the table. I can't tell if it's a good thing or not.
Thank you for the candy and the toy though. I think Fergus likes it... he took it when I gave it to him but I haven't seen him in a few days so I guess he must be playing with it somewhere. Ma said he looks kindof skinny compared to when we left for term though... Maybe he's sick. What do you think I should do? Toast usually looks... pretty good. Any advice?
I hung the scarf you gave me on the back of my door. I won't wear traitor colors but I guess I can't throw it out either.
It's weird being back home without you and Tao. Have you had a good holiday? More importantly, have you been practicing your flying?
Cal
[Enclosed is a banner of the Ballycastle Bats and some homemade cauldron cakes. One of them is a bit burned... Cal tried to make that one for Mimi with chef's help but it didn't go to plan. He included it anyway.]
