Appearance: With dark brown eyes and light brown hair that she likes to keep long, Clara has always been considered by most to be quite a pretty girl despite her skin being a tad darker than most "English roses". Clara always had a fondness for more feminine colors when it comes to her clothing and this has persisted into her adult life. Clara stands just an inch shorter then average at five feet, one inch and has always had a slender build though child rearing has seen her curves fill out a tad more than what she was graced with at puberty. She is right handed. History: 1861-1872: Clara is born late in 1861, the second daughter of her family. Her childhood is pretty average with her older sister being her closest friend. Things are pretty happy for Clara though she is saddened when Esther goes off to Hogwarts. Even at a young age, however, Clara proves to be much more adept at befriending people beyond their small social sphere so she isn't left wanting for company except for within their own home.
1873: Clara's turn to attend Hogwarts arrives and she is sorted into Hufflepuff. She had been dearly hoping to be sorted into the same house as Esther but she adapts to things well enough, making a nice handful of friends in her very first year.
1877-1879: It is not a total surprise to most people when Clara is named a prefect - she has always been rather vibrant, witty and social which makes her popular among most of her housemates. She is pretty happy with school life, especially when it becomes apparent that her popularity extends to the male population. Clara is no harlot but she does enjoy innocent flirtation. As Esthers debut approaches, Clara cannot help but feel excited for her sister and looks forward even more to her own. She does face mild disappointment when she fails to be made a Head Girl in her final year.
1880: Clara graduates and has her debut. Her first season is rather successful and she has a number of interested parties that she could easily take her pick from, including cousin Sampson Browne. She very much enjoys their developing flirtationship.
1881: The flirtation with Sampson grows into more for Clara and she favors him above her other beaus. A lot of people assume that they will one day wed and so does Clara. Light flirt that she is, however, she still happily and innocently entertains the social interest of other men. One of the more persistent of these men is Benjamin Ross.
1882: Life is chugging along merrily for the young middle class debutante when she receives a ring from a 'secret admirer' among her birthday gifts. It is rather pretty and as Clara wonders who gifted it to her, Esther convinces her that it must be Mister Ross. With the ring snug on her finger, Clara finds herself agreeing with her sisters logic despite a lingering sense of doubt that she quickly brushes away. It is suggested that she should pay more attention to Mister Ross for he clearly quite likes her if he is sending her secret gifts! Soon, Clara is almost exclusively putting her attentions on Mister Ross. In fact, it is practically the only thing on her mind.
By mid-October, she has agreed to allow Mister Ross to court her.
1883: As is typical of most courtships, an engagement to Mister Ross comes about in spring. A wedding follows soon after.
1884: Clara gives her husband a child. Her husband suggests the name of Glenna which she is quick to agree with though in the very back of her mind, there is a sense of displeasure because she had always wanted to name her first daughter after her sister. As has become usual though whenever someone suggests something to her that she wouldn't actually agree with, she has a bit of a disconnect from the conflicting thought and it is dismissed by her.
1885: Clara has another daughter, this one being named Mysie.
1886: Clara finally provides her husband with a son. He is named Mungo - a name that Clara outright loathes - but she agrees to the name, seemingly happily. Following her pregnancy, a friend suggests she join her book reading group. Clara enjoys reading well enough but not as a social thing - she enjoys light gossip and womanly sorts of arts even more. On top of that, she dislikes a number of the women in the little club. Even so, she finds herself agreeing to do so and she goes to every gathering but hates every moment of it.
1888: Clara's life seems to have become a routine of her agreeing to things she doesn't actually want to do. Whenever she tries to think too hard on it, however, she spaces out and forgets about it. By now, she has gotten rather used to this being how things are and has since stopped thinking too hard about things.
Personality: Clara is seen by most of being a vibrant and witty young woman. This has faded some since her courtship and marriage to Benjamin Ross but not entirely. She is quite sociable and has always been lightly flirty. Before her courtship, Clara was not the sort to take life too seriously. Clara has a sense of feeling disconnected from the world around her but she has long since gotten used to that feeling and thinks it is normal. She often has a niggling sense of there being things she has forgotten but that is yet another feeling that she has gotten used to.
