Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

You'll be glad to know I didn't perish in the fog but actually ended up with a promotion after! It was a hell of a month even if it only felt like a few days but it was apparently worth it. I've been promoted to Assistant Head of the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. And though I doubt you read Witch Weekly, I was featured because of it.
How's life up at the school? Glad to be getting settled back in with all the little children?

Clinton,
Seeing that it's been over a month since the fog lifted and I am not officially in mourning, I think it was safe to assure that you did not perish. However, I was less aware of your recent promotion — Congratulations! It's rare for a man of thirty (or have you aged a bit since then? I can't remember.) to have climbed his way up the ladder so young, so I assume you've done something right. Who did you have to blackmail?
School is still settling, but everything is going well thus far. We haven't had any fights nor horrendous injuries, which is good. Perhaps getting your face in that magazine might help you secure a wife sometime soon?

I'll admit I'm a bit offended you'd think I'd blackmail someone to get my position. Though, I'm sure it was meant in jest. Regardless, nothing but hard work saw me to my promotion. As well as the fact that the position was very much needing of being filled. I was clearly the best option for the job.
And you, dear brother, sound like mother. Why must I have a wife already? Syd is yet to marry himself, I'd think the focus should be on him rather than on me. Besides, I'm far too busy for a wife at the moment. I need to get settled in this new position before such a thing is even considered seriously.

Clinton,
It is exactly your over-confidence that makes me believe you're in much greater need of a wife than Sydney. Besides, it seems I'm not the only one who believes marriage is the next step:
I confiscated it from two of my female students who were giggling over you and Mr. Adlard's "handsome faces". I told them you'll look like me in fifteen years — I saw the light die in their eyes a moment later.

And you'd actually think to believe Witch Weekly knows anything? Perhaps you're starting to lose your mind in your old age.
Also, you know I like Syd better than you, right? You've just reaffirmed such by dashing the hopes of eligible prospects.
