Family: An unholy combination of Prewett, Potter, Longbottom, Mulciber, Bones, Lovegood and Weasley make up Gideon's extended family. They make for excellent gossip but he does feel a bit exhausted just thinking about them all.
Appearance: Standing at a perfectly avergage 4'10 Gideon is neither small nor large, neither fat nor thin, instead he has a quality that, regrettably, makes him father forgettable. For now, this is a good thing as it allows him to blend in seamlessly and find out more about who he wishes to become. He has his father's dark hair and blue eyes.
History: Born in 1883 to James and Felicity Riley Gideon is named for the grandfather who he will never meet. His mother suffers from post-natal depression and threatens his life - when he finds out about this Gideon will be distinctly, and understandably, awkward about this.
In 1885 he is joined by his sister Grace and the following year his father dies in a terrible carriage accident that also claims the life of his uncle. He does not much care for the trade.
Over the following years Gideon grows up in Irvingly. He plays with some of his schoolfriends at the Irvingly school so never quite understands when some of his cousins are ignorant to the facts of life he has already learned. not those ones
He likes facts and likes gathering them so he begins to listen at doors whenever he has a fancy to and it is whilst undertaking this past time that he overhears a junior servant gossiping about his mama's time in an asylum. He can hardly ask her so he asks his uncle Fitz instead and he crumbles like a cake in a cupboard.
Feeling strange about his mother for the first time in his life Gideon shows magic for the first time by freezing the glass in all the windows in the house. He is, despite the cause, quite pleased with himself.
So, wand? Check? Magic? Check. Emotional trauma? Checkaroo. Off to Hogwarts!
Personality: Sensible, inquisitive (some might say nosy), optimistic, sensitive, a born worrier and someone who will make things worse for themselves eventually.
