Christopher Moony stands at five feet and eight inches in height, as average as they come. His build, though, is best described as “solid”, with his muscle tone increasing, rather than decreasing, in age due to his participation in rather physical extracurriculars. His brown hair is generally kept tidy and his beard, when present, sports shoots of grey to match his eyes. Removing his shirt (scandalous!) would reveal a series of scars on his torso. When not in th robes that mark him as an auror, Kit prefers to dress comfortably but appropriately. He is ambidextrous.History:
Personality:The winter of 1850 saw Christopher “Kit” Moony the first child born to an Oxford tradesman and his wife. In the years that would follow, two daughters would be added to the family, which proved more or less happy—more, because they loved one another dearly. Less, because Kit developed a habit early on of getting himself into peculiar situations.Once, there was a boy...
It was the summer of 1861 that finally shed light upon this oddity. A strange fellow called Darrow arrived at the Moony home with whisky for Mr. Moony, lilies for Mrs. Moony, and fudge for Miss Dorothy and Miss Violet Moony. For Kit, though, he brought something altogether different: an invitation to Hogwarts and the promise of a world the boy had never even dreamed of....who learned he was a wizard.
At the castle, he would find himself sorted into Gryffindor where his outgoing nature was entirely at home. He proved to be a surprisingly adept student, earning himself scholarships throughout his seven years of study. This was due in large part to his avoidance of quidditch—though he would have loved to play, as some of his friends did, his parents had long since instilled in him the importance of hard work and achievement.
After concluding his studies in 1868, Kit proudly joins the Ministry of Magic’s Auror Training Programme.
Kit found his in the form of Emilia. Though she did not work in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, her presence at the Ministry in a capacity higher than mere secretary prompted him to take note in a witch he had barely registered at Hogwarts. Though both were in possession of very strong personalities, her pragmatism tempered his rashness, and his outgoing nature helped to open up her own reserved one.Every hero needs his heroine...
The two married in 1874, and a year later welcomed son Edison “Ned” Moony. Three years later, young Anne Moony was added to the family. In 1886, they moved from Oxford to Pennyworth, Hogsmeade
All was well.
For a time. It was, theoretically, a rather routine operation. However, there is nothing routine about watching three other aurors die and being taken captured and tortured yourself. The summer of 1888 was, it would seem, particularly unkind. For eight months he was held by an enclave of dark wizards. To this day, he will not recount how he escaped captivity, though when aurors returned to clear out the nest, they found only bodies remaining....and every hero must slay his own dragons.
It took some months before Kit was cleared to return to active duty, during which time his marriage became frazzled as he suffered from night terrors and frighteningly intense daydreams. At his worst, in a fugue, Kit actually attacked his wife, breaking three ribs in the process. He moved out two days later.
He continues to try to piece his life back together, with varying degrees of success.
Other:STOIC — VOLATILE — PENSIVE — LOYAL — INTELLIGENT
Prior to his captivity, only the last two would have been ascribed to Christopher Moony, whose past descriptors would have included instead “good-natured”, “risk-taker” and “open”. Today, he suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder; unfortunately for him, this doesn’t actually exist yet and so neither do the appropriate supports.
SKILLS:
- Dueling: Kit is an excellent duelist, though no longer partakes recreationally.
- Boxing: He does, however, punch people for sport.
- Potions: As a trainee auror, he made a name for himself as being quite good at crafting both poisons and their antidotes.
TRIVIA:Sample Roleplay Post:
- Boggart: His wife, beaten bloody.
- Patronus: Though previously able to produce a corporal fox, Kit has not even attempted a patronus since his return
- Amortentia: Leather, gardenias, and whatever soap Emilia uses/d
- Fears: Himself, mostly.
- Refuses to sit in on enhanced interrogations.
