I find myself unsure of whether to apologize for the lateness in the arrival of this letter, or if perhaps this is too forward of me.
I hope you'll forgive me for both.
I'd like to bestow to you my congratulations on your winnings of last week's dueling tournament. Would that I could say I was witness to your victory, however, I'm afraid the exact moment your duel began was the moment I was drawn into the healer's tent to tend to my remaining injuries, but I do hear you left your competitor with a spectacular head of hair.
