Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1894. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.

To Whom It May Concern,
I received this letter early in the morning, and it concerns me greatly. My first assumption was that it was a prank. But for the sake of the fact that I have no evidence of this being false, I write to you to ask for this to be investigated further. If my mother is alive, the proper authorities would certainly be the most qualified to save her. If this is a prank, my apologies for wasting your valuable time.

Your mother is alive, and you can have her back if you agree to our terms. You must not involve the authorities, and send us twenty-five galleons. We expect your response in one week.

Auror Office,
My mother had - apparently supposedly - died after giving birth to my youngest sister on March 23rd of last year. The one to announce the death was the wetnurse, who had been the only one in the room with my mother and sister. I shall have the wetnurse's information sent to you as soon as I can if needed.

Auror Office,
My mother has possibly been harmed due to the Daily Prophet article. Or someone else has lost blood over this. I am not sure what to do.

You were warned not to contact the authorities. Your mother has suffered the consequences. She is alive, and your ransom is still due on the fifth of this month. Pay it, and she will continue to live.

There is blood splattered on the letter - in the spoilers - and a lock of Guinevere's hair had been provided in the envelope, also sent the authorities.

Mr. Lukeson,
Thank you for the provided information. We are taking the threats seriously and will keep you updated with further findings. Before we can move forward with the investigation, I must ask: What motive might anyone have for harming your mother, as this letter might suggest?

Auror Office,
I have no idea. She has always been such a nice woman. Though she has been vocal on standing up against hate towards others, I doubt one would see that as just cause to harm her.
