Darkness Over Hogsmeade (and Irvingly)
But the Fog has Stopped Expanding?

Yesterday at 11 o'clock, the sun stopped reaching Irvingly and Hogsmeade. Not because of clouds - no, a Ministry employee was able to fly high enough to observe the fog from the side and confirm that conditions have not changed. Instead, it appears that whatever magic is at work within the fog has also blotted out the sun, moon, and stars.

This raises concerns within the fog for several creature-related reasons. Vampires, which already appreciated apparent freedom of movement within the fog, will now be even better protected from within the sun. In addition, the full moon transformations begin tonight, June 22. Previously, the Ministry had operated under the assumption that werewolves would transform, as the fog does not cause physiological changes. However, with the moon, stars, and sun completely negated - will they turn, or not?

Obviously most people hope 'not,' especially as these communities are so vulnerable to creature attacks without magic.

The Department of Magical Accidents & Catastrophes is reporting that the fog stopped spreading when the darkness began. It has not expanded further in the hours since, leaving its final range to encompass Irvingly, Hogsmeade, and much of the Forbidden Forest. Those of us outside can breathe a sigh of relief.

But what about the communities still trapped, when the full moon rises?

Darrow's Memoirs Become Best Seller
Copies Fly Despite Ongoing Fog Troubles

The Untold Story of the Sycorax Expedition became available in bookstores on June 20th, and was already well on its way to success through a rash of pre-orders. Managers in London bookstores now report that they are sold out of the memoir after only two days of sales, though copies are still available in the Hogsmeade branch of Wizzhard's Books, which has been experiencing severely low traffic due to the ongoing fog.

Publisher Harold Flynn stated that printing for a second release was already underway and should be in stores soon.

The novel has already made something of a splash in society circles, with rumors of scandalous exotic practices detailed within its pages, though given the fact that the publisher warned delicate women and young children away from the book before it was even published, this is perhaps unsurprising.

The book's author, Captain J. Alfred Darrow, is currently underway in search of the lost (or perhaps mythical) isle of Avalon, the legendary burial place of King Arthur. The expedition is scheduled to return later this month.
